About this Role

Fandom is growing! Our Senior Analyst, Revenue Analytics opportunity is remote and reports to our Director of Revenue Strategy & Planning. Our Revenue Strategy & Planning team is a fan of data, and we use it to help Sales, Product, and Finance build real-time and offline solutions to ensure our data is accessible and reliable.

As a Senior Revenue Analytics Analyst, you will focus on improving measurement and refinement of collected data and analysis, and significantly contribute to how Fandom’s inventory is measured, analyzed, and monetized. You have a natural curiosity to understand the "why" behind business performance, take a proactive approach in problem-solving, are results-oriented, know what to prioritize, and are a team player. You have a passion for generating quantitative analysis and insights that will drive global advertising revenue (programmatic and direct ads).

You Will...
  • Predictive Analysis
    • Proactive is your motto, and have a passion towards thinking 3-steps ahead of the business while remaining grounded on what are actionable insights/steps for the near-term
    • Leverage analytical techniques along with historical data to drive insights to determine continuous improvement opportunities and develop predictive demand and revenue models
    • Simplify complex problems & huge data sets to extract non-obvious insights
  • Reporting & Forward-Looking Insights
    • Leverage data visualization techniques and communication skills to present complex analytical findings in clear business terms that facilitate acceptance and execution by business partners and senior executives
    • Lead the development of existing and new scalable reporting tools and resources for all global stakeholders and the executive leadership team
    • Define data systems and tools with the Systems & Tooling team, Engineering, and Finance to produce revenue dashboards and other business intelligence reports
    • Build, maintain, and improve dashboards, reports, and revenue models to support Sales, Yield, and Executive teams.
    • Own and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly business reporting supporting Sales, Finance, and Executive management.
    • Support ad hoc revenue deep dives, inventory monetization analysis, and business case development for indirect revenue initiatives.
    • Analyze trends in Programmatic revenue across SSPs, demand partners, and auction mechanics to identify optimization opportunities.  
    • Provide regional inventory and revenue analysis to direct tactical execution of monetization strategies across North America, EMEA, LATAM and APAC

    • Evaluate key business drivers to measure the success of pricing decisions, incorporating science-based insights to identify strategic opportunities, and collaborating with partners to project manage and execute annual and promotional pricing decisions and initiatives.
    • Contribute to the overall development and implementation of our evolving revenue strategy. 
  • Partner Collaboration
    • Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in Sales, Product, Finance, Operations, Engineering, IT and across the company to communicate performance, understand new initiatives, and identify impacts of strategic opportunities.
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, IT and Operations teams to design, develop & deliver robust and scalable reporting automation

You Have...
  • BA/BS degree in a quantitative/problem-solving discipline (or equivalent training and experience) such as Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or other quantitative field
  • 3+ years of experience in statistical, business analysis, and/or strategy development
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with ETL processes and API integrations.
  • Proven track record of working with advertising data, revenue analytics, and automated reporting workflows
  • Data visualization, dashboarding, and query tools expert, including SQL, Tableau, Lookr, Amazon Athena, Snowflake
  • Experience with Database Management systems and coding (ex. Vertica, MySQL, Oracle, Python) who enjoys solving complex and unstructured problems
  • Familiarity with back-end CRM, data platforms or ad inventory exchanges like Salesforce, Boostr, GAM
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas, and lookups); Google Sheets proficiency
  • A desire to work on advertising challenges that require flexibility in approach (and/or startup experience) -- everything from on-the-fly analytics to statistics, big data, and front to back-end build outs for tooling
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders across different time zones
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience with Programmatic Ad Spaces, pricing, revenue management, and/or forecasting
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across different functions and effectively influence senior business partners
  • Deep experience in the ability to simplify complex data sets and extract non-obvious insights with frameworks and analyses
  • Strong ability to project manage and to remain detail-oriented while working with numerous stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the digital ad space or previous experience in a media, ad tech, or digital publishing environment is a strong plus
Bonus Points...
  • Understanding of digital media monetization, header bidding, or ad quality strategies.
  • Experience with log-level data analysis of advertising data (programmatic advertising or programmatic ad tech)
  • Experience working with Data engineering teams and/or experience with ETL processes
  • R or Python is a strong plus
  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a quantitative field, or equivalent
  • Willingness to work a PST schedule.
