About TopDog Law

TopDog Law is revolutionizing legal marketing with a bold, outside-the-box approach. Founded in 2018 by James Helm, our firm has achieved 200-300% year-over-year growth, making us one of the fastest-growing legal brands in the country. With high-performing digital strategies, viral organic content, and data-driven marketing, we’re setting new industry standards.

Ranked No. 149 on the Inc. 5000 list, TopDog Law is just getting started. As we expand our reach, we’re seeking a Senior Analyst to uncover insights, drive experimentation, and turn data into decisions that optimize marketing performance.

Job Overview:

TopDog Law is building a high-performing marketing organization, with decision science at its core. We’re seeking an experienced and intellectually curious Senior Analyst to help turn every marketing channel into a performance channel—by making the unmeasurable measurable.

This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of traditional analytics and modern data science. As technology evolves, we believe the boundaries between these fields are dissolving—this position reflects that convergence. You’ll be expected to think like an analyst, operate like a data scientist, and deliver impact like a business owner.

You’ll report directly to the Director of Decision Science and work cross-functionally with creative, paid media, and engineering teams. You’ll get visibility into a wide array of marketing channels: from TV and out-of-home, to social, video, and website conversion.

You’ll leverage your skills in SQL, Python, experimentation, and statistical analysis to surface insights, drive performance, and uncover optimization opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving difficult problems, and wants to make a direct and measurable impact on business growth.

Responsibilities:

At TopDog, we believe every channel is a performance channel—and the job of Decision Science is to measure the unmeasurable. You’ll bring this ethos to life by:

  • Analyze and interpret performance across marketing channels to identify trends, insights, and growth opportunities.
  • Build dashboards and decision-support tools to drive visibility and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with media, content, product, and engineering teams to translate business questions into analytical projects.
  • Design and analyze experiments (A/B, multivariate, geo, lift) to guide decision-making and optimize conversion across funnels.
  • Communicate insights clearly and persuasively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify automation or process improvement opportunities and work with engineering teams to implement them.
  • Maintain documentation and reproducibility of analysis using best practices in code hygiene and version control.
  • Apply algorithmic thinking to give structure to ambiguous data problems, design efficient logic, and develop scalable methods to solve complex business questions.
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience as a data analyst, marketing analyst, or data scientist
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or a related field required
  • Strong technical skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel preferred
    • Experience with BI / Data Visualization tools such as, Sigma, Tableau, Looker, or others preferred
  • Experience designing and analyzing controlled experiments (A/B testing, multivariate testing).
  • Experience in statistical inference and/or causal analysis preferred.
  • Ability to break down ambiguous problems and apply structured thinking.
  • A “first principles” thinker who brings a scientific mindset to business problems.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to present complex analysis simply and clearly.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, iterative environments.
  • A track record of turning insights into real business outcomes.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive compensation
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Remote working environment
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Opportunity to be part of an elite, fast-growing legal brand

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
