  • Create both low-code and high-code AI agents.  Craft canonical agents to support the most essential work across the company.  Produce agents that operate in a cost-effective manner, and integrate seamlessly into the workflows of the teams that benefit from them.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and improve agents.  Develop eval datasets that can be used to monitor the performance of key agents, and support decisions around buy vs build including evaluating vendors.  Help analyze usage patterns and advise on usage and cost.
  • Share your expertise.  Become a key member of the AI Center of Excellence, sharing your expertise to help others around the company build better agents, and support company-wide AI training efforts.  Stay on the frontier of AI and advise on adoption of new methods and tools.  Be flexible yourself as everything about this role will need to continue to evolve as the AI ecosystem evolves.

  • Python expertise.  8+ years of experience, with strong understanding of data structures, best practices for security, and a practice of using AI yourself for code-assist.
  • Business acumen.  Ability to understand business processes in order to support with AI, as opposed to requiring business team to understand AI in order to leverage it.  Strong communication and partnership skills--your success is when others succeed.
  • Educator tendencies.  Passion for AI, and desire to share your passion with others.
  • Understanding of ML.  Your ability to develop agents should be underpinned with a solid understanding of how the LLMs, and the AI systems behind them, work.  Understanding of modern AI safety and governance approaches is desireable.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
