You’ll be the connective tissue between Finance, IT, and data systems — ensuring our financial reporting is accurate and reconciled as we continue to integrate a reinsurance acquisition and transform processes across the finance team.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Acquisition Integration and Ongoing Analysis

  • You will be the Senior Analyst supporting the financial integration of a complex reinsurance acquisition, in addition to ongoing support.
  • Reconcile data across source systems and two separate entities’ general ledger systems (Workday and SAP), identifying and resolving variances through root-cause analysis and adjusting journal entries.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager to ensure seamless monthly closes, intercompany reporting, and data integrity.

Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement

  • Play a key role in finance transformation by evaluating existing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending enhancements that improve accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance and IT teams to design and implement solutions and actively champion change across the organization.

Data Flow Expertise

  • Develop deep expertise in financial data movement from source systems to the general ledger.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data flows and reconciliations.
  • Work across Finance and IT to solve complex data challenges.

Skills and Background You’ll Need:

Education: Bachelors in Accounting or Finance

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in accounting/finance including hands on experience in reconciliations, controls and financial close processes.
  • GAAP Accounting expertise and general ledger management.  STAT accounting experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (ERP systems including data flows from source systems to GL.)  Excel, PowerPoint and data query tools (e.g. SQL), Workday/SAP experience is a plus.

Key Behaviors of a Successful Candidate:

Winning together: Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex ideas across Finance and IT with clarity and confidence. Collaborative and trusted — you build alignment across teams and drive shared outcomes.

Driving success: Approaches the work with a “builder’s mentality” — when inefficiencies are uncovered, proactively designs better processes. Constantly pursues exceptional results that take us “next level.”

Adaptability: Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of navigating ambiguity with confidence and creativity. Approaches the work with a “detective’s mindset” and digs into the data, asks the right questions, and doesn’t stop until the issue is solved.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
