The Technology Application Sales (TAS) Software Developer role is a great opportunity for early-career professionals. This hands-on and collaborative role offers the opportunity to work closely with Solution Architects, Technical Sales Leads, and global sales teams to bring technical use cases to life. From creating product demos to enabling tools that showcase the value of Blue Planet’s solutions, this position is perfect for someone passionate about coding, problem-solving, and working at the intersection of software and telecom.
How You Will Contribute
- Configure and develop customizations and proof-of-concept solutions using Blue Planet, a division of Ciena, products.
- Create demo scripts, recordings, and supporting materials to articulate the use case and value of our solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to align business requirements with Blue Planet tools.
- Build expertise in telecom networks and OSS/BSS systems through mentorship and hands-on experience.
- Document and share insights to enhance team knowledge and enablement.
- Participate in workshops and design sessions to define and implement solution architectures.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and telco standards.
The Must Haves
- 1–4 years of software development experience, including internships or co-op roles.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java programming.
- Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Spring (Java) or REST API development.
- Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Interest in cloud-native development patterns.
- Understanding of relational or graph databases, such as PostgreSQL or Neo4j.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills coupled with a curiosity for telecommunications.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with cloud-native software development.
- Knowledge of OSS/BSS ecosystems.
- Exposure to telecom standards and protocols.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Skills in scripting languages for automation tasks.
- Experience in customer-facing roles or technical workshops.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings and customer engagements.
