ABOUT THE ROLE

The Platform Operations team, with members located in Canada, the US, Poland, and India, perform critical functions on Innocap’s dedicated managed account platforms (“DMAs”). The team's primary responsibilities include performing complex funds reconciliations, margins & OTC collateral management as well as OTC derivatives payments.

The Platform Operations Department is currently looking for a Specialist to join its team and support the platform growth. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with hedge fund asset managers, clearing and OTC counterparties, and administrators.

The Specialist in Platform Operations has the following main responsibilities:

  • Provide management and oversight of operational production activity including monitoring cash and margin balances in accordance with margin rules established with each client.

  • Perform all aspects of people management including coaching and development of team members, leading and motivating as well as performing goal setting, 1-1s, mid-year and year-end review.

  • Diligently oversee all OTC collateral management activities.

  • Participate in clients and hedge fund manager calls to help resolving issues relating to the Innocap operating model, onboarding, and operational structuring.

  • Review and investigate position reconciliation and liaise with counterparties, asset managers and administrators to resolve any discrepancy.

  • Instruct, review, and approve cash movement and OTC settlements payments.

  • Actively participate in platform and funds launches & liquidations.

  • Serve as an escalation point for resolving more complex issues and handling client requests.

  • Collaborate and lead/manage project work to support internal and external needs.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • University degree in finance or related field.

  • Desired seniority level: mid-senior-level (minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in Operations, Middle-Office or related fields).

  • Advanced understanding of the financial markets, instruments and key processes.

  • Advanced knowledge of financial products, such as equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, listed derivatives, and OTC derivatives.

  • Extensive experience with reconciliation of positions and understanding of break-resolution process.

  • Experience in margin and collateral management processes & calculations.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to problem solve by escalating issues to leadership with their possible solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate information to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities along with a proactive, positive, and adaptable approach to work.
