WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH 

As Specialist II Basketball Brand Marketing, LA, you will be a part of the LA Brand Marketing Team, reporting directly to the Basketball Brand Director, LA. This position will work fluidly across the Basketball Brand Management team, as well as with key stakeholders in the LA Brand Marketing organization

Moreover, the individual will be responsible for building strong relationships with key partners across functions, brand management teams, and the greater Los Angeles area.

A nuanced expertise of basketball culture, and the intersection of sport, streetwear, and energy is a requirement. The ability to work in ambiguity, see the big picture, and collaborate positively with a large group of partners is key. 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will help bring Nike’s broader basketball strategy to life in Los Angeles. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining deep relationships with key basketball partners across the city—from grassroots organizations to professional teams. You will support the execution of brand marketing activations, ensuring our brand is on the front lines actively engaging with consumers. This role requires close collaboration with global and geo brand partners to convert basketball priorities into impactful marketing strategies and marketplace experiences.

Key duties that are associated with this role include: 

  • Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with key basketball partners—from grassroots organizations to professional teams—that align with our brand values and help bring our Los Angeles basketball strategy to life.
  • Campaign & Activation Leadership: Execute and amplify basketball marketing initiatives across LA, including pinnacle Nike brand activations and partner-led executions in the wholesale marketplace.
  • Consumer & Community Connection: Serve as the front line of the brand in Los Angeles by creating authentic experiences that resonate with basketball consumers and reflect global, Geo, and city priorities.
  •  Product & Athlete Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of Nike Basketball products and build strong connections with athletes at all levels to ensure authentic engagement and storytelling.
  • Insights & Feedback: Continuously gather local consumer insights and share learnings with Global and Geo teams to inform long-term strategy and enhance marketplace impact.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in marketing, ideally brand management 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training
  • Passion for basketball, culture, creativity and a deep understanding of its athletes and communities, their motivations and challenges
  • Campaign Management: Hands-on experience supporting marketing campaign from planning through to executions delivering on clear objective and KPI’s.
  • Executional Excellence & Attention to Detail: Focus on delivering efficient and timely results, while maintaining a high standard of quality. 
  • Adaptability: Skills demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and being able to adjust quickly to changing business needs and feedback in a dynamic environment.  
  • Consumer Insight & Activation: Have a deep understanding of our key consumer in LA and having the proven ability to gather and apply consumer insights to boost seasonal brand plans.
  • Innovation & Growth Mindset: a continuous learner who explores new marketing approaches, testing and improving engagement and overall campaign success.
