Voltage Park is on a mission to make machine learning infrastructure accessible to all, from large enterprises and research universities to seed-stage startups and nonprofits. Providing seamless access to compute with pricing and inventory transparency is the future of access to GPUs, and we are the only cloud provider offering a platform that shows all available GPUs with transparent, market-based pricing, in addition to long-term reserve contracts for our customers.

We are seeking a highly skilled and action-oriented Special Teams Leader to lead critical deployments and initiatives within our AI Factory Physical Datacenter operations. This role is instrumental in executing high-priority, ad-hoc infrastructure builds, rapid diagnostic investigations, and pioneering new site buildouts with precision, safety, and speed. The ideal candidate combines deep operational experience, technical understanding of datacenter environments, and the agility to lead specialized project teams in high-stakes, complex environments.

What You'll Do
  • Special Projects Execution:
Lead cross-functional task forces on high-impact, short-notice projects such as AI cluster expansions, rapid deployment zones, and proof-of-concept infrastructure.

  • New Buildouts & Site Launches:
Oversee the physical and operational buildout of new datacenter facilities or AI compute zones, working with internal architects, facilities, and OEM vendors to meet aggressive timelines.

  • Ad-Hoc Infrastructure Builds:
Respond rapidly to business-critical infrastructure needs by forming and managing agile build teams to meet objectives outside standard operational flow.

  • Diagnostics & Issue Resolution:
Lead complex troubleshooting efforts for performance issues, hardware/software interactions, and facility anomalies. Coordinate root cause analysis and resolution across operations, engineering, and vendors.

  • Safety & Compliance Leadership:
Enforce and champion OSHA and internal safety protocols in all datacenter operations. Build a culture of safety-first, ensuring incident-free project delivery.

  • Process Development:
Create and refine SOPs for special projects and emergency builds. Capture lessons learned to inform global standards and playbooks for repeatability and scalability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Act as the point of contact between infrastructure engineering, facilities, program management, and leadership for special initiative planning and execution.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years experience in datacenter operations, physical infrastructure buildouts, or large-scale technical project management.

  • Proven leadership of fast-paced, cross-disciplinary teams in high-reliability environments.

  • Deep understanding of datacenter power, cooling, racking, cabling, and safety protocols.

  • Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure requirements is a plus but not required (e.g., GPU racks, high-density cooling, fast interconnects).

  • Familiarity with diagnostics and incident resolution methodologies in physical environments.

  • OSHA 30 or similar certification is highly preferred. Minimum OSHA 10.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and situational leadership skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed to regional or international datacenter sites, approximately 35%

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
