This position is core to the general operations of SFLA of working with pro-life campus groups and encouraging participation in the Pro-Life Movement. We are looking for someone with campus pro-life experience, a passion for abolishing abortion, and excellent leadership skills. 

It is important that all members of Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) Field Team be dedicated and flexible with the national mission in mind: to abolish abortion. RCs must be innovative, tenacious, and execute with excellence, able to go above and beyond when needed.

This position is based out of Los Angeles and serves the region of S. CA. 


Essential Functions 
  • Serve Students in Your Region 

    • Create a vision for growth in your region. 
      • Meet with local and regional pro-life organizations and others who support the mission to establish networks that can assist with the work of SFLA. 

  • Meet annual metrics by strategizing ways to achieve them. 

  • Keep accurate records of metrics, group activity, and leadership contact information in Salesforce. 

  • Maintain a certain number of groups in the region. 

  • Identify and carry out strategies to best engage students on the campuses. 

  • Help student groups effectively end campus abortions by recruiting them to join Standing With You and Campaign for Abortion Free Cities.  

  • Improve the quality of the pro-life groups in his/her region.  

  • Consult with group leaders to help them troubleshoot problems and provide advice. 

  • Travel to unique campuses throughout the year. This requires scheduling, planning, and preparing your travel schedule, including connecting with student groups, ensuring regulations are followed, and host homes are booked. 

  • Organize pro-life events on and off campus, such as displays or training that support groups participating in all five pillars.  

  • Training students to become more effective pro-life leaders and activists.  

  • Recruit students to attend the National Conference.   

  • Engage in Local and National Politics 

  • Plan, recruit for, and host state lobby days, flyering campaigns, lit drops, and door-to-door canvassing, sometimes on short notice. 

  • Government & Get Out the Vote Coordination. 

  • Build relationships with legislators in the region. 

  • Actively work with Students for Life Action to engage in legislative battles that concern abortion, as each region is unique. 

  • Mobilize 

  • Identify pro-abortion events within the region that call for a pro-life counter. 

  • Coordinate pro-life students to Rapidly Respond to these events in the community.  

  • Speak at rallies, protests, and other various mobilizations.  

  • Expand the Reach of the Pro-Life Generation 

  • Collect pro-life contacts through clip-boarding and other outreach, attending local events, and online connections to grow Pro-Life Generation communications. 

  • Work with the SFLA Development Team in regional fundraising efforts, which includes outreach such as speaking at church services, calling campaigns, newsletters, and community events. 

  • Cultivate host home relationships across your region. 

  • Communicate with students and supporters regularly via email, phone, and text, as well as keep up a public positive presence on social media.  

  • Administration 

  • Participate in weekly calls and daily group chats to report progress.  


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time, salaried position. This is NOT a standard Monday - Friday, 9-5. There will sometimes be early mornings, late nights, and occasional mandatory weekend events to attend. This position is on campus 3-4 days a week and will often be traveling regionally.     

Travel 
  • This position consists of a great deal of travel, as you will be visiting student groups all throughout your region and helping them be effective on campus. When schools are in session, you can expect to be traveling on campus 3 to 4 days per week. Non-travel days will be spent working out of your home office. 

  • Additional travel will be required during election years.  

  • Travel to bi-annual in-person small team offsites and the National Pro-Life Summit are also required. 

QualificationsCompetencies 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

  • A positive attitude, good problem-solving skills, and a passion for serving in the pro-life field are a must. 

  • Must be teachable to learn SFLA technologies and platforms. 

  • Candidates must be self- motivated, a good problem solver, have an entrepreneurial spirit, expert multi-tasker, maintain confidentiality, able to work independently, and be a highly organized person. 

  • Comfortability with public speaking, as RCs will give trainings, speak at protests, rallies, and other events. 

  • Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma. 

  • Must have valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle to travel region. 

  • Some experience working or volunteering within the Pro-Life Movement. 

  • Budget management as a budget will be provided within which the Regional Coordinator is responsible for ordering all supplies, covering travel expenses, etc. 

  • Ability to work independently and with little direct supervision in carrying out the core functions listed above. 

  • Someone with the capability to remain calm and courageous when under pressure from opposition on campus.  

  • A team player, as various opportunities to support your team will arise. 

  • Grittiness, as this position requires physical, emotional, and spiritual grit on the ground. Talking about a life or death issue every day isn’t for the faint of heart! 

  • Motivation to be fast-moving. 

  • Excitement for innovation, and ability to be creative in solving problems. 

Physical Demands 
  • Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time. 

  • Must be able to withstand long periods of driving. 

  • Other physical demands may include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time (door to door canvassing) and participating in local and national pro-life marches. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. 

Required Education and Experience 

The full-time position requires a minimum of an Associate’s Degree, but a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
