ABOUT GOODR

We create and sell active eyewear for anyone. No Slip. No Bounce. All Polarized. All Fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.

OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.

  • FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
  • AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)

Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.

AUTONOMY: We practice autonomy, empowerment, and accountability so that every team member can be in control of their own life.

  • HYBRID WORKING: Most roles are only required to be in the Inglewood office every Tuesday and Thursday with the occasional third day thrown in.
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: We have an all-company learning program so that we’re constantly leveling up our skills.

SUSTAINABILITY: We think Earth’s pretty rad. That’s why we take action wherever possible to limit our impact on the planet.

  • 1% FOR THE PLANET MEMBER: 1% of goodr’s annual sales go directly to environmental organizations.
  • CARBON NEUTRAL: In 2019, goodr became a 100% carbon neutral company.

Fun Fact: Each year we create limited-edition sunglasses made from 100% recycled materials called “These Shades are Trash.” Check out a pair and join the movement!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Do you dream of jet-setting across the globe to find the perfect factory that won’t ghost you after the first production run? Are you the kind of person who reads vendor contracts like they’re juicy novels—and actually enjoys them? Then good news: we're looking for a Sourcing Manager who is equal parts supply chain sleuth, negotiation ninja, and professional relationship whisperer.

In this role, you’ll wheel, deal, and charm your way into the hearts of international suppliers while making sure our costs don’t spiral into “LOL” territory. If you’re fueled by optimizing sourcing strategies and you think reviewing tariff codes is more entertaining than television… then this is the position for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and manufacturers overseas and domestically that align with the company's quality, ethical, and cost standards
  • Evaluate supplier capability gaps and develop strategies to fill them by sourcing and onboarding new suppliers
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and negotiate favorable terms
  • Involved in pricing, vendor agreements, and payment terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing while maintaining quality standards
  • Optimize cost structures by analyzing production expenses, raw material costs, and currency fluctuations
  • Work closely with the design and product development teams to source materials, components, and manufacturing partners that meet design, costing, and quality specifications
  • Collaborate with the product quality team to implement and oversee quality control procedures, ensuring that all products meet regulatory and brand quality standards
  • Execute a cross-qualification strategy for models and SKUs to ensure supplier flexibility and mitigate production risks
  • Stay up-to-date with tariffs, trade policies, and import/export regulations affecting manufacturing in Asia and worldwide
  • Implement sustainable sourcing  and material strategies to reduce environmental impact and align with corporate social responsibility goals
  • No direct reports – you get to lead the charge, without managing your fellow flamingos
  • This role is in the Operations team and will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • May or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
  • Loves everything above
  • Asks a lot of questions
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement, preferably in the eyewear, fashion, or CPG
  • CPG experience is a MUST
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong knowledge of Asian manufacturing markets, supplier networks, and negotiation strategies (BONUS POINTS for European and North
  • American market knowledge and experience)
  • Experience with quality control standards and compliance requirements for eyewear products
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel internationally, particularly to Asia for supplier visits and negotiations
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, ERP, and procurement software
  • A strategic thinker with strong sourcing expertise and a passion for the eyewear industry
  • Dependable with the willingness to take the initiative to work collaboratively and with a sense of urgency
  • Loves the work more than a paycheck
  • Is happy to give away credit to their team
  • Loves getting and giving feedback
  • Is into personal growth
  • Thinks Fun is being great (not partying)
  • Is proactive and an independent problem solver! (Can you google a question?)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
