Tulip's cloud-native, no-code platform, powered by embedded AI, is driving the digital transformation of industrial environments through composable, human-centric solutions that go beyond disrupting the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) category.

About You:

You are a hands-on technical expert who gets energy from helping other people get better at their craft. You area leader who wants to keep building alongside your team while you coach them. You like being close to customers and the shop floor, and you work backwards from the value they need. You share what you learn, give honest feedback in the moment, and look for ways to do more with less.

What skills do I need?

  • 6-8+ years of experience in solutions engineering, implementation, or technical consulting with manufacturing or industrial customers
  • Deep expertise building composable apps and integrations on Tulip or a comparable no-code platform, including debugging complex solutions built by others
  • Experience leading customer discovery and scoping, estimating effort, and communicating project risk to plant and executive stakeholders
  • 1+ years of people management experience, including coaching, performance conversations, and helping team members grow
  • Nice to have: experience in regulated industries such as life sciences
  • Experience using AI tools to speed up solution delivery is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a team of Solutions Engineers through weekly 1:1s, clear quarterly goals, ongoing feedback, performance conversations, and individual growth plans
  • Spend roughly half your time hands-on, delivering customer projects yourself and setting the standard for app design, integration quality, and best practices
  • Own delivery quality and results for your team's projects, including utilization, time to first value, and customer satisfaction, and step in on escalations
  • Partner with Sales and the Head of Professional Services on scoping: lead discovery, effort estimates, and statements of work while protecting margin and feasibility
  • Plan team capacity and staffing, and help recruit, interview, and onboard new hires
  • Pilot AI-enabled delivery on live customer projects and share reusable assets and lessons with the global Professional Services team
  • You'll travel up to 25%

Key Collaborators:

  • Solutions Engineers, Project Managers, and other Solutions Engineering Leaders
  • Sales, Pre-sales engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services Operations

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
