About Matia

Matia is at the forefront of the DataOps revolution, building a unified platform that streamlines data management from end-to-end. We empower data teams with seamless ingestion, reverse ETL, comprehensive observability, and intuitive data cataloging, enabling faster, smarter decisions with significantly less tool sprawl. Backed by leading investors and trusted by data teams at companies like Ramp, Drata, Outsystems, and many more.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a technically-minded and customer-obsessed Solutions Engineer to join our rapidly growing go-to-market (GTM) field engineering team. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Customer Success. You will be responsible for "owning the technical win" during the sales cycle and ensuring our customers successfully deploy and derive value from Matia post-sale.

This is a high-impact role for someone who loves solving complex data architecture puzzles and isn't afraid to dive deep into support tickets to ensure a world-class customer experience.

What You'll Do

Technical Sales Execution

  • Lead Technical Demonstrations: Conduct high-impact product demos and technical workshops tailored to specific client challenges and data environments.

  • Manage Proof-of-Concepts (POCs): Define success criteria for POCs and guide prospective customers through the technical evaluation of the Matia platform.

  • Architecture Mapping: Develop technical diagrams, documentation, and reusable assets to show customers how Matia integrates with their existing Modern Data Stack (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, Sigma, Omni).

Customer Support & Success

  • Technical Onboarding: Lead the technical implementation for new customers, ensuring seamless data connections and configuration.

  • Front-line Support: Act as a primary technical point of contact for customer inquiries. This includes troubleshooting integration issues, resolving bugs in collaboration with engineering, and providing "how-to" guidance.

Bridge Product & Market

  • Feedback Loop: Funnel technical requirements and "feature gaps" from the field directly to our Product and Engineering teams in Israel.

  • GTM Collaboration: Partner with Marketing to create technical content, such as webinars, blog posts, and whitepapers focused on specific DataOps use cases.

What We’re Looking For
  • Technical Proficiency: You have 4+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Support, Analytics Engineering, or Data Engineering.

  • Data Fluency: You have a strong understanding of SQL and the Modern Data Stack (ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, Data Observability, and Data Governance).

  • Problem Solver: You enjoy the "detective work" of support, digging into logs, testing APIs, and finding creative workarounds for complex data pipelines.

  • Communicator: You can explain complex technical concepts to both a Data Engineer and a C-level executive with equal clarity.

  • Grit: You thrive in a fast-paced, Series A environment where roles are fluid and "that's not my job" isn't in your vocabulary.

Nice to Have
  • Experience in a data consultancy or as a practitioner (Data Engineer/Analytics Engineer).

  • Experience supporting customers across different time zones.

What’s in it for you?
  • Impact: You are one of the earliest hires in the US GTM team; your work directly influences our product roadmap.

  • Growth: Direct access to leadership and a culture that prioritizes internal promotion as we scale.

  • Flexibility: A results-driven, remote-friendly environment with a "no ego" team culture.

How to Apply

Does this role sound like a good fit for you? We encourage you to apply directly through our website.

This role requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
