As a Solutions Engineer at Liberty Mutual in our Service Technology space, you'll be responsible for guiding the development and integration of servicing tools with our go-forward Policy Management system. Our team supports LM policyholders, internal Customer Service Representatives, external Independent Insurance Agents, and third-party partners, while working in an agile environment that has the creative energy of a start-up and the full backing and comprehensive benefits of a Fortune 100 company.
This role has a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite) and we are considering candidates based in Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Plano, TX, Indianapolis, IN and Columbus, OH.

  • Technical Expert: Highly experienced in architectural design and hands-on development. Working closely with your business partners, you'll develop technical requirements, design and implement robust software applications

  • Motivated mentor: Lead one or more agile teams, coaching and collaborating with junior software engineers.

Experience
  • 10+ years of related software engineering experience
  • Extensive knowledge of software architecture, contemporary frameworks, and emerging technologies
  • A comprehensive understanding of agile environments
  • A history of practicing DevOps, CI/CD and building cloud-based applications
  • A strong background in business operations and strategies, including knowledge of global business, technology trends and the financial services industry

Skills
  • Ability to identify patterns and problems across teams and deliver effective solutions
  • Openness and adaptability to respond to fast-moving circumstances
  • A design thinking and test-driven development mindset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an aptitude for working in teams
  • Solid negotiation, facilitation, consensus building and influencing capabilities

Knowledge
  • Expertise in developing or architecting cloud-based, responsive we

  • Familiarity with event-based System of Engagement architectures and integration with API exposing microservices
  • Deep understanding of layered solutions and designs
  • Cognizance of security concerns, from access control and authentication to secured SDLC processes

Education
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience

  • A comprehensive understanding of agile environments

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
