The Solution Engineer leads new customer acquisition and expands existing accounts by designing tailored SAP B1 solutions and guiding prospects through the buying process.
The Solution Engineer – SAP Business One plays a pivotal role in our client's growth engine by leading both net new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion opportunities. This individual partners closely with the sales team and prospects to uncover business needs, design tailored SAP B1-based solutions, deliver engaging demonstrations, and guide prospects through the full evaluation and buying process—from qualification through negotiation and close.
The ideal candidate is a SAP B1 expert who thrives at the intersection of technology and sales—someone equally comfortable configuring solutions as they are building relationships, presenting business value, and driving deals forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead qualification, discovery, and needs analysis for prospective and existing customers.
- Translate business challenges into tailored SAP B1 solutions that demonstrate measurable value.
- Design and deliver product demonstrations and presentations that align technical capability with business outcomes.
- Develop proposals, SOWs, and pricing models in collaboration with sales and delivery teams.
- Work with prospective clients to answers questions and overcome objections
- Support contract negotiation and ensure seamless handoff to the delivery team post-sale.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the client's proprietary extensions and custom integrations that enhance SAP B1 functionality.
- Stay current with SAP B1 updates, ecosystem trends, and partner technologies to provide thought leadership and trusted guidance to customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide feedback, refine go-to-market messaging, and enhance solution offerings.
- Achieve and exceed sales and solution engagement metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience working with SAP Business One and Add-on Software, including solution design, configuration, integration, and/or implementation.
- Proven success in technical pre-sales, solution engineering, or consulting roles.
- Strong understanding of ERP business processes (finance, inventory, production, operations, etc.), especially within the manufacturing, wholesale distribution and omni-channel retail industries
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to take ownership of deals and customer success.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for customer meetings or events.
