You will collaborate with engineers, technical directors, producers, operators, system integrators, and decision-makers across broadcast, streaming, corporate production, rental and staging, houses of worship, and education.
Success in this role requires hands-on experience with Grass Valley switcher platforms—particularly K-Frame, Kahuna, and/or Mav-X—plus familiarity with competitive systems. A solid understanding of how switchers integrate into full production ecosystems (cameras, replay, multiviewers, routing, graphics, audio, and IP control) is essential.

Your Role

  • Assisting sales teams, customers, and integration partners with production switcher system design, deployment, and operations;
  • Bill of Materials (BoM) creation and solution configuration;
  • Delivering product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts at customer sites and trade shows;
  • Supporting service and technical support organizations with escalations and design questions;
  • Delivering in-person and virtual switcher training and technical presentations;
  • Maintaining and managing demo systems and operational readiness;
  • Coordinating shipment logistics for demo hardware;
  • Managing travel planning and expense reporting;
  • Responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and Requests for Quotation (RFQs);
  • Participating in customer meetings to address workflow needs and technical requirements;
  • Supporting solution qualification and opportunity strategy with Sales and Product teams.

Who you are

The most critical skills you will need:
  • Deep technical knowledge of Grass Valley production switchers including K-Frame, Kahuna, and/or Mav-X;
  • Exceptional understanding of live production workflows and signal flow including Production Automation;
  • Strong IP video knowledge including ST 2110, PTP, NMOS, and network architecture concepts;
  • Ability to design complete production switcher solutions integrated with video, audio, control, and monitoring systems;
  • Operational understanding of switching techniques, macros, MEs, layering, transitions, and effects;
  • Superior verbal and presentation skills; the ability to clearly explain complex systems to technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer engagement skills;
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • Solid Windows / MS Office proficiency.
Important skills:
  • PowerPoint and presentation development;
  • Diagramming tools (Visio, Lucid, Draw.io, etc.);
  • Documentation and workflow visualization;
  • Ability to effectively interface with engineering, sales, and product management teams;
  • Experience assisting with system acceptance testing and customer validation.
Nice to have skills and experience:
  • Familiarity with third-party production switchers and control systems;
  • Experience with Grass Valley AMPP workflows and integration;
  • Multilingual (Spanish, Dutch, or others);
  • Prior experience responding to formal bids and tenders (RFP/RFI/RFQ);
  • Understanding of automation, tally systems, General-Purpose Input/Output (GPIO), and control protocols;
  • Knowledge of broadcast graphics workflows and replay systems.

Working Conditions

  • Competitive Compensation packages
  • Energizing and supportive work environment
  • Remote role with up to 40–50% travel; candidates must live near a major airport and be able to store and transport demo equipment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
