The Boeing Company is looking for multiple Software Systems Engineers (Senior / Lead) to join the Ground Software Engineering team located in El Segundo, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Satellite Systems Software Engineering organization.

Our team creates the software tools and services for the world's highest performing satellite/ground systems for USG and Commercial customers. We work with space customers in the development of the next generation ground systems.
This is an opportunity to work in a rapid development environment using modern technology, architecture, and tools. Our team works within an agile methodology using a CI/CD environment; integrated with automated testing, vulnerability, & quality scanning capabilities. Your skills and interests will be matched to available roles within the program IPT inclusive of Cost Account Manager, Product Owner, and Release Train Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:• Develop and maintain requirements, architecture, algorithms, interfaces, and design for high-performance Command and Control (C2) software solutions.• Lead software development activities in the scaled agile methodology utilizing a DevSecOps environment. Supporting software development activities and integrating completed software components into a fully functional software system.• Support progress demonstration presentations to customer representatives and program/IPT leadership.• Perform day-to-day activities in the areas of Cost Account Manager, Product Owner/Technical Lead, Release Train Engineer/Scrum Master, and/or Integration & Test lead.• Support IPT by implementing a structured approach to defining and meeting a development and integration schedule alongside a rigorously managed cost baseline.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• 5+ years of experience with software development for space systems and ground segments performing command, control, mission planning and data processing• 5+ years of experience in the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test)• 3+ years of experience leading software development projects• 3+ years of experience with software development using either Java, C++, or Python• Experience working in an Agile software development environment and DevOps methodologies• Requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (interim prestart, final post start)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.• Experience as a Product Owner/Technical Lead and/or Integration & Test Lead for government programs.• Experience as a Cost Account Manager managing the IMS in an Earned Value Management framework and/or Release Train Engineer implementing agile methodologies. • Understanding of Command and Control (C2) systems, real-time applications, and their specific requirements.• Experience with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL), messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, ActiveMQ), and data streaming technologies (e.g., CCSDS).• Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration platforms.• Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate testing, builds, and deployment workflows.• Experience with various formal acceptance testing activities (e.g., Formal Qualification Test -FQT, Factory Acceptance Test - FAT, Site Acceptance Test - SAT)• Active TS/SCI or DoD Top Secret clearance

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range / Senior: $136,850 - $185,150
Summary Pay Range / Lead: $167,450 - $226,850
