Nokia of America Corporation, Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Multiple Positions), Sunnyvale, CA.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of the life cycle of the software feature including requirements review, test planning, test execution and debugging of the failures, and test automation.
Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes.
Create sophisticated test plans to identify software problems and causes and verify conformance of feature functionality against requirements specifications.
Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
Create and maintain databases of known defects.
Execute feature test cases by simulating complex scenarios to identify, debug and track defects and recommend corrective action.
Interact with Software, Hardware, Firmware, Product Management, Documentation, and Customer Support teams.
Provide estimation and prioritization of execution of test cases and coordinate test activities.
Design and develop scripts and new libraries to automate the execution and verification of features.
Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of business strategies.
Analyze, develop and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s progressive related work experience. Or a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following:
Scripting and Automation using Tcl or Python;
Writing detailed test plans, identifying tools requirements, documenting failure scenarios, and isolating problems; Networking protocols including TCP, UDP, IP, and DHCP;
Routing protocols: BGP and OSPF;
Virtualization platforms: OpenStack, Azure, and AWS; Linux Systems;
Wireshark; and
Analyzing messages sent and received between network elements and debug issues.
