This is a remote position.

The Software QA Engineer will support the Texas Education Agency (TEA) on the CRM application project. This role performs advanced and/or supervisory computer systems analysis and team lead work, administering the daily operations and activities of testing teams within the Quality Assurance (QA) section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System). Work involves planning, budgeting, and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. This position works with the CRM development team to provide software testing services. The CRM group supports and facilitates the implementation of all apps/projects in the CRM application.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers the daily operations and activities of testing teams within the QA section.
  • Analyzes user requirements, design documents, and other documentation to develop detailed test cases.
  • Creates, executes, and validates manual functional and regression test cases.
  • Reports and documents all issues, test cases run, test results, and testing summaries in detail.
  • Creates, executes, and validates automated test cases.
  • Performs SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data.
  • Works with the development team and customers to understand the functionality under test in order to define and implement test case automation.
  • Communicates test automation plans and progress clearly to the team.
  • Executes performance and accessibility testing.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications

  • 8 years experience testing complex web applications.
  • 6 years experience with Microsoft Service Dynamics 365.
  • 6 years expertise in SQL.
  • 4 years experience with JMeter/WAPT Pro or other load testing tool.
  • 4 years automation experience with Java and TestNG.
  • 3 years experience with Playwright.
  • 2 years experience with GitHub Copilot skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years previous experience with Zypher Scale.
  • 4 years previous experience with Jira.
  • 4 years experience with Power BI.

Additional Requirements:

  • Texas-based candidates are preferred.
  • Services are expected to start 09/15/2026 and are expected to be completed by 08/31/2027.

Work Location and Schedule:

  • Location: William B. Travis State Building, 1701 North Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78701.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.
  • Work Arrangement: Telework.
