Role Description

As our Software Engineering Manager, you will be involved in overseeing the development of the team's software development process, collaborating with various teams to design and develop new features. In your role, you will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team's engineers, helping them to learn and grow. Additionally, you will work to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the smooth operation of the team's software. Your passion for  UI and web development will help us reimagine and enhance the web app to help make it easy to integrate new solutions.

The role also includes the development of customer-facing AI platforms to serve the needs of GFiber users.

In this role, you'll:

  • Oversee the team's software development process.
  • Design and develop compelling features by collaborating with product/business, UX, QA, backend, and other client engineers.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team's engineers, including helping them to learn new technologies and solve complex problems.
  • Work with the team to identify and resolve technical issues, includes troubleshooting problems, debugging code, and performing code reviews.
  • Lead the technical software design and implementation through hands-on development

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience working with Web technologies (e.g. Javascript, Typescript, CSS). 
  • 2 years of full stack development experience (ideally Java or Kotlin).
  • 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 1 year of experience implementing or integrating AI platforms.

It's preferred if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with Next.js and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience of mobile development or multi-layer architectural designs to support mobile teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with UX and product owners.
  • Experience working with ambiguous product requirements and translating them into strict technical scope.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $157,000 - $230,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
