Lead the Robot Link Platform team, managing engineers to foster innovation, improve project delivery, and ensure service integration.
Zoox is seeking a seasoned Software Engineering Manager to lead the Robot Link Platform team. The team is critical in enabling successful driverless robotaxis service, operating at the intersection of robot software and cloud services/front-end tools for fleet management, telemetry and rider support. The team is responsible for microservices that ensure reliable, mission-critical communication, as well as offer optimal abstraction between our robot and all the services for operation.
You will be leading a team spanning diverse technologies and skill sets, This role requires high cross-functional interaction across all aspects of robot and service enablement.
In this role, you will:
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of individual contributors, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Provide technical guidance, establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of optimization strategies and drive continuous improvement
- Manage the allocation of resources within the team, ensuring that projects are staffed appropriately and that team members have the necessary tools and support to succeed
- Work with partner teams to deliver tested high quality solution that meets the requirements of client services, as well as ensure smooth integration, deployment
- Proactively identify risks (schedule/quality/feature) and put in mitigation measures
Qualifications:
- BS / MS in Computer Science or similar degree and/or 10+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of management experience including personnel management, hiring, budget
- Experience successfully shipping large-scale backend services/ platforms to production
- Leading & delivering in fast paced and agile environment, in a highly cross organizational setup
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages like Typescript, Go, Java, Javascript
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience working with networking stacks (TCP/IP, video streaming)
- Experience in AV Industry or other mission critical systems
