Red Canyon Software is looking to hire 2 undergraduate or graduate students to assist us with building out our Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC) flight software library for spacecraft for Summer 2025.  Students will be utilizing Core Flight Software (cFS) and F’ flight software frameworks.  Students will need to be fluent in C, Python and familiar with GNC algorithms and associated hardware (reaction wheels, inertial reference units, star cameras, etc.).


40 hours per week

10 week internship May 2025-August 2025


About STARLIT

The STARLIT Scholars program supports research and industry internships for CU Boulder undergraduate students. The univerSiTy spAce stRategic technoLogy IniTiative (STARLIT) award unites research institutions, aerospace companies and the Department of Defense to develop technologies and workforce strategies relevant to the US Space Force. Led by Principal Investigator Marcus Holzinger, STARLIT advances cislunar space domain awareness (SDA) research and transferrable technology, while also expanding the space workforce. Required:

  • Currently enrolled at the University of Colorado Boulder as an undergraduate or masters degree student.
  • Majoring in a STEM degree program, including aerospace engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, etc. 
  • Must have previous experience with the following:
  • o   Guidance, Navigation, and Control software
  • o   Python, C/C++, RTOS, MATLAB/Simulink, Linux
  • o   Algorithm development
  • General understanding of coding best practices and standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Self- starter, analytical, tenacious problem solver
  • Passion for aerospace
  • US Citizen
