Role Summary

The Software Engineer supports our line of business operations by developing product solutions using modern frameworks and technologies in accordance with industry and Rouse standards of software engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, and deploy scalable, efficient, and reusable code
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues with deployed systems
  • Maintain documentation and source control
  • Write code as part of a collaborative team, building both APIs and frontend features that play a visible, critical role in our client’s day-to-day operations
  • Manage, define and break down tasks in an agile environment
  • Implement with some autonomy and design solutions in collaboration with engineering leads
  • Own the problem and scope solutions that line up with business objectives
  • Provide rapid response to the needs of the team
  • Support and maintain production, ensuring reliability and uptime for critical operations
  • Write and maintain unit and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and system stability
  • Leverage AI tooling in development workflows and stay current with best practices

Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, and JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React
  • Experience with relational and document data stores such as PostgreSQL or Firestore
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud providers
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, test, and develop solutions independently
  • Ownership mindset and capable of self managing tasks, scope and priorities
  • Focused on providing our customers with world class products and services
