Role Description:

As a Software Engineer specializing in HOPPR’s platform development, you will be instrumental in implementing, and supporting our cloud-based applications and services. You will work closely with our product and operations teams to develop user interfaces, APIs, and cloud services and ensure our products are scalable, reliable, and secure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust APIs in Python or similar languages, facilitating effective communication between our applications and cloud services.
  • Develop and manage cloud infrastructure and services, primarily on AWS, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
  • Utilize Kubernetes and other application management solutions, improving deployment processes, and managing our service's scalability.
  • Incorporate Apache Spark and data warehousing solutions for large-scale data processing tasks, enhancing our ability to handle and analyze big data efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud-based solutions with our existing systems and workflows.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cloud service provider offerings, cloud security principles, and best practices in cloud architecture.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Lead the design, documentation, development and maintenance for our cloud-based systems and processes.
  • Review and implement processes to accelerate team velocity and maintain high quality across our codebase.

 Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or related field.
  • Proven experience in API development using Python or similar programming languages.
  • Understanding of cloud service providers, particularly AWS, and experience developing cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Strong background in building and maintaining frontend applications in React.
  • Experience working with DICOM images and understanding of healthcare industry standards and regulations is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading projects across a team of multiple engineers.
