Duties: Develop and maintain microservices meeting functional requirements to ensure high availability. Migrate legacy services to microservices on the public cloud while adhering to strict SLAs. Design and recommend changes to the application stack and architecture to achieve higher resiliency. Perform hands-on software development and code peer review to guarantee the stability of applications, and adhere to architecture standards, risk management, security policies, processes, and procedures. Work closely with the scrum master and application development lead to ensure that team and organization standards are followed and that there is a consistent focus on continuous improvements and sustained delivery. Partner with the QA and performance testing teams to procure sign-offs for all functional and technical deliverables. Ensure that complete documentation is maintained for the microservices under development and migration to facilitate onboarding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: designing and developing software using Java, J2EE, and Agile methodologies; building application servers for Java-based web applications utilizing Oracle Weblogic; developing event streaming software utilizing Apache Kafka; building application infrastructure components utilizing Docker and Kubernetes container frameworks; configuring Dynatrace to monitor applications; creating automated testing scripts utilizing the Selenium and Cucumber frameworks; building proxies for applications utilizing Google APIGEE; setting up software CI/CD pipeline utilizing Jenkins; building secure applications utilizing OAUTH; developing software utilizing Spring and Spring Boot frameworks for enterprise grade applications; building applications using Cisco Composite software to interact with databases; setting up cloud computing environments on AWS Cloud Services; developing database software to run SQL queries through the Hibernate framework and JDBC; building automation scripts utilizing Python; monitoring logs and setting up alerts on Splunk; versioning software code utilizing GIT and Apache Subversion (SVN); building REST and SOAP-based APIs; configuring Terraform for cloud computing applications that run on AWS; building scheduler jobs using Unix shell scripting; applying application architecture disciplines; analyzing existing REST APIs using the Hoverfly simulation tool; building applications using Maven; building applications using Apache Ant; and deploying applications to the Apache Tomcat server.
