Develops, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains software supporting electronic support and electronic attack capabilities. Designs autonomous services, desktop and web applications, scripts, and utilities; analyzes system requirements and resolves software issues. Collaborates with subject matter experts, modernizes legacy applications, applies software standards, and works with relational databases, SQL, and modern development frameworks. Requires an active Secret clearance and potential post-hire Top Secret clearance.
SAIC is looking for a Software Engineer with experience in developing innovative solutions that will be used to meet warfighter needs to support the US Electronic Support (ES) and Electronic Attack (EA) capability development. This position is located in the Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA area and requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
JOB DUTIES:
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software.
- Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
- End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
- Ensures software standards are met.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- Bachelors and 9 years or more experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Software Knowledge: C# .NET, Git, Azure DevOps, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio.
- An understanding of Relational Databases and SQL.
- Ability to modernize technical debt (convert old Winforms into WebServices).
- Strong concepts of MVVM/MVC, Interfaces, and writing Unit Testing. Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Must have an active SECRET security clearance. Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance post hire.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Software Knowledge: Visual Basic, Microsoft Access, Excel.
- Ability to read and/or generate Use Cases or SRS documentation.
- Basic understanding of Stored Procedures to translate to software.
- Basic understanding of database restore.
- GUI: Winforms, WPF, TypeScript with REACT/REDUX, ASP.NET.
- EW Knowledge.
- An understanding of SQL datatypes.
- Complex dynamic SQL queries crossing several databases.
- BCP and Extract Transform and Load(ETL).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Agile Development Process.
- Kanban.
- Scrum (Sprints).
- Understanding of tree structures.
