The Software Engineer, Infrastructure will build core platforms for PushPress, focusing on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer tooling to support an AI-driven product ecosystem.
About PushPress
PushPress is the AI-powered gym management platform built for boutique fitness.
We are transforming how boutique fitness owners operate and how the entire $100B global fitness industry connects, transacts, and grows. Trusted by more than 5,000 gyms and 500,000 members, PushPress processes ~$1B annually.
We're a Series B company backed by Altos Ventures, StepStone, and Mucker Capital, and we're going all-in on AI. Our AI Assistant, AI Member Intel, and AI-powered reporting tools are already changing how gym owners and coaches operate. We believe AI should make the human side of fitness better, not replace it.
By embedding intelligence directly into the product, we enable boutique fitness owners to make faster decisions, unlock new revenue streams, and collaborate across a connected network. As more gyms join the platform, data compounds, intelligence strengthens, and the value of the ecosystem increases for every owner.
We are a global team of builders, operators, and fitness fanatics on a mission to level the playing field for independent fitness entrepreneurs. If you are ready to help reshape an industry, let's talk!
About the Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Infrastructure to help build the core platforms that power PushPress as we scale toward an AI-driven product ecosystem. This is a software engineering role first, focused on writing production code, with ownership across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer tooling. You’ll design and operate the systems that support intelligent, data-driven, and automated workloads, ensuring reliability, scalability, and observability as our platform evolves.
This is not a traditional DevOps or SRE role. You’ll be building software, shaping platforms, and owning infrastructure end to end to support both our engineers and the AI-powered capabilities of our product.
What You'll Do
- Build and own production systems that power PushPress infrastructure, platforms, and developer tooling
- Design and operate scalable cloud architectures that support data-intensive and AI-enabled workloads
- Architect fault-tolerant systems on AWS using Kubernetes and Terraform
- Develop internal APIs, libraries, and frameworks that enable teams to ship intelligent, reliable software
- Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to support rapid iteration on product and AI-driven features
- Partner with product engineers to embed reliability, performance, and observability from day one
- Lead incident response and post-incident reviews focused on resilience and long-term system improvement
What You'll Need
- 3+ years of experience building and owning production systems at scale
- Strong programming fundamentals with a track record of writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Experience developing backend services, internal platforms, or shared libraries that power data-driven or automated product capabilities
- Hands-on experience with AWS, containers, and infrastructure as code, ideally in data-intensive or AI-enabled environments
- Deep familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps workflows using ArgoCD
- Comfortable operating complex, data-rich systems and automated or agentic workflows in production
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to think systemically about how infrastructure, data, and platforms enable intelligent products
Why PushPress
- Build a product from scratch that will impact thousands of fitness businesses
- Work with the latest AI technologies in a practical, user-focused way
- Join at the ground floor of an exciting new product initiative
- Collaborate with a team that values both technical excellence and user impact

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene
Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
- Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
- Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
- Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
