The Illustrations Output team is looking for a talented and driven software engineer. We support a variety of Node.js services developed in Javascript and TypeScript, and React micro frontend applications, in support of the Illustrations application, a critical insurance sales tool. We believe in a strong team culture where everyone is responsible for quality and is held accountable..
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and implement high-quality, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs using TypeScript and Node.
- Maintain and implement new features in micro front end applications using Javascript and React
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the reliability and stability of the APIs.
- Provide strong technical presence to team.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality standards are met.
- Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices within department.
- Utilizes working relationships across teams within their division.
- Provide technical support and assistance to clients and end-users as needed. Assesses and provides solutions to system-wide architectural problems. Manage and prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines and business goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 4-5 years professional experience required.
- 3-5+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, ownership mindset and continuous learning. Experience developing solutions using agile methods.
- Advanced skillset in one or more technical platforms.
- Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business. Manages own time to meet objectives.
- Ability to perform peer reviews on code and design.
- Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture.
