Position Summary:
A Software Engineer II will support the design of technical solutions in collaboration with a team of developers and UX designers according to product requirements defined by a product owner. Under the direction of senior team members and managers, support the implementation of product changes as well as automated tests when appropriate. All work must follow the team’s development workflow including use of source control, code reviews and clear documentation. This position will be responsible for the quality of their code, with support from senior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop scalable backend services and APIs using C#/.NET Core and frontend features with Vue.JS
- Implement robust error handling, logging, and monitoring across the stack
- Work closely with product owners, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet user needs and business objectives
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards
- Track and debug code issues across both backend and frontend components within the team's domain
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for backend and frontend services
- Create clear documentation of implementation decisions and technical approaches
- Contribute to agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives
- Leverage GenAI tools (such as Windsurf, Cursor, or similar) for tasks such as code generation, refactoring, and test case creation, while maintaining a clear understanding of the underlying codebase
- Experiment with large language models (LLMs), evaluate prompt effectiveness, and support the development of user-facing features that utilize GenAI
Skills and Experience Needed
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, preferred
- 3 - 5 years Software Engineering experience
- Proficiency in both backend (C#/.NET Core) and frontend (Vue.JS or similar) development, with a willingness to learn new technologies as needed
- Strong proficiency in team-oriented git workflow, preferably in Azure DevOps
- Exposure to GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor, or similar) and basic experience with prompt engineering or GenAI-powered tooling for productivity or product use cases
- Solid understanding of software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and documentation
