StubHub is on a mission to redefine the live event experience on a global scale. Whether someone is looking to attend their first event or their hundredth, we’re here to delight them all the way from the moment they start looking for a ticket until they step through the gate. The same goes for our sellers. From fans selling a single ticket to the promoters of a worldwide stadium tour, we want StubHub to be the safest, most convenient way to offer a ticket to the millions of fans who browse our platform around the world.

StubHub is rebuilding the global marketplace for live experiences with AI embedded into how we discover, personalize, price, and convert. We are hiring a high agency, product minded Software Engineer II who wants real ownership across the stack and direct impact on millions of fans.

This is not a narrow frontend role. This is not a backend ticket queue role. This is for engineers who want leverage. Engineers who are comfortable moving between UI, APIs, services, experimentation frameworks, and data informed iteration to ship meaningful product improvements fast.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY or Century City, CA

About the team:

The Consumer Experience organization owns the most critical surfaces of StubHub:

  • Event discovery and search
  • Personalization and recommendations
  • Merchandising and pricing surfaces
  • Conversion and checkout flows
  • Web and mobile user experience

We operate in a bottom up, high talent density environment where engineers are expected to shape product direction, run experiments, and move business metrics.

We ship constantly. We measure everything. We iterate fast.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and build high scale consumer features used by millions
  • Own projects from ambiguous problem statement to production rollout
  • Work across frontend and backend systems to deliver outcomes, not partial solutions
  • Ship A B experiments and iterate based on real user behavior
  • Integrate AI powered capabilities into user facing product flows
  • Partner deeply with product, design, and data as an equal stakeholder
  • Continuously improve performance, reliability, and scalability

You will have meaningful autonomy and accountability. Your work will influence engagement, conversion, and revenue across a global marketplace.

What You've Done:
  • You likely have 3 to 5 years of experience building and shipping real production systems
  • You have owned meaningful product features end to end, from ambiguous problem definition through design, implementation, launch, and iteration
  • You have worked across the stack and are comfortable contributing to both frontend and backend systems. Full stack experience is strongly preferred
  • You have shipped consumer facing features and understand how performance, UX, and reliability directly impact user behavior
  • You have run experiments or contributed to A B testing frameworks and can tie engineering decisions to measurable business outcomes
  • You have designed systems that scale and can articulate tradeoffs around performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • You have demonstrated the ability to quickly learn new technologies, frameworks, or domains and apply them effectively
  • You have operated in environments with high ownership, high expectations, and fast shipping velocity
What We Offer:
  • Accelerated Growth Environment: An environment designed for swift skill and knowledge enhancement, where you have the autonomy to lead experiments and tests on a massive scale.
  • Top Tier Compensation Package: Competitive base, equity, and upside that tracks with your impact.
  • Flexible Time Off: Enjoy unlimited Flex Time Off, giving you the flexibility to manage your schedule and take time to recharge as needed.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Prioritize your well-being with a comprehensive benefits package, featuring 401k, and premium Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance options.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
