A Day in the LifeWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a background in programming and working with embedded systems and software development, with core competencies in Python and C#. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions to test our innovative products.
As a Software Engineer, you will write and debug the software to program the embedded device and test it. As part of this role, you will participate in technical discussions, problem-solving sessions, and risk analysis activities as part of the software quality process so good communication skills are key.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Implement software to install embedded code into a device using UART, BLE, cloud-based networking protocols, and operating system calls.
• Write and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code in Python.
• Interpret, understand, and provide feedback on software requirements for a project. Perform requirement analysis to determine completeness and compliance with software system. Ability to work with requirement management tools.
• Work with project management and issue tracking tools such as Jira.
• Develop, test, and debug software tools and utilities.
• Drives requirement and test issues to resolution.
• May work across a variety of software lifecycle activities as determined by program needs.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering or Sciences field required.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Python
• Experience in C#
• Embedded systems development experience

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$74,400.00 - $111,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
