About the Role

Our Engineering team creates innovative product experiences that power personalized marketing at massive scale. We develop cutting-edge applications and systems that process 100s of billions of messages and events per year, enabling marketers to connect effectively with hundreds of millions of consumers. We’re looking for a Software Engineer I to join our AI Products team. As an early-career engineer, you’ll partner with senior engineers to design, build, and scale systems that power personalized messaging for millions of consumers. You’ll get hands-on experience working with AI-driven workflows, high-scale distributed systems, and real-world data—all while learning best practices in software development and contributing to products that directly impact Attentive’s success.

The AI Products team is responsible for building intelligent, automated customer experiences that deliver the right message, at the right time, through the right channel. We design and scale AI-powered systems that understand customer behavior, personalize interactions, and enable brands to create seamless journeys that drive growth.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design, build, and maintain features for Attentive’s AI-powered messaging journeys.
  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code, participating in code reviews and team discussions.
  • Help improve system reliability, scalability, and performance as our products grow.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in production, learning how to build resilient distributed systems.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, AI integration, and agile development.

Your Expertise

  • 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience (internships or co-op experience welcome).
  • Strong foundation in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, or similar).
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, web technologies).
  • Interest in AI/ML applications and excitement to learn how they drive customer engagement at scale.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; eager to learn from teammates and contribute to a high-performing team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

For US based applicants:

  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 - $170,000 annually + equity + benefits
  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location
