About the Role:

As an engineer reporting to the engineering manager on the Small and Micro Business Pay team, you'll help develop backend services that support our business payment solutions. You'll work with Go and AWS to create scalable, reliable, and efficient systems. We are looking for strong collaborator, who can work across team and roles with platform engineers, product managers, and other engineers. This is a Hybrid role (in office 2 times a week).

You Will:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable back-end systems for Remitly business customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver customer-focused solutions that enhance trust and safety.
  • Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and advocate for best practices in coding, testing, and system design.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges, improving system performance, reliability, and maintainability.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Professional experience with one of the following programming languages: Go, Java, Kotlin.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $116,000-$145,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
