Job Description

  

Launch your career in software configuration and change management at Teledyne Controls! We are seeking an entry‑level Software Configuration Management Support Specialist to support administrative and process‑driven configuration management activities. This role focuses on documentation, coordination, tracking, and control of software builds, releases, and changes. This is not a software engineering or DevOps position, but an administrative role that supports engineering teams by ensuring software artifacts are properly controlled, documented, and released.

What You'll Do

SCMP – Software Configuration Management Plan

  • Support software project requirements using the Development of Software Configuration Management Plans (SCMPs).  The SCMP document will cover the overall SCM support and service activities to be performed, the schedule of the activities, the assigned responsibilities, and the resources required (including staffing, tools, and computer facilities).

Perform software captures, builds, and releases

  • Establish software baselines within the source control environment using Github and IBM Synergy
  • Build software using Python, shell scripts, and batch files on Windows and Linux environments in accordance with build instructions documented by Engineering
  • Provide feedback on software build procedures ensuring accuracy and completeness to achieve reproducibility of software
  • Generate checksums/CRCs where applicable
  • Troubleshoot software build issues with Engineering
     

Responsible for software source and change control activities

  • Participate in establishment of project change control methodology and SCCB
  • Monitor, review and disposition problem reports and change requests
  • Support SCCBs, both physical meetings or electronically conducted

Manage software part number assignments and maintain related SCM databases

  • Assign software part numbers and versions consistent with SCM plans and configuration management standards

Perform software distributions and deliveries

  • Reproduce software media and validate reproductions in accordance with applicable documentation
  • Perform virus checks
  • Verify checksums
  • Deliver software to customers, this includes hard copy media as well as electronic distributions

Review software documentation

  • Review configuration status accounting data: software configuration index and baseline information for all life cycle data applicable to each software baseline release

Process Improvement

  • Analyzes processes for areas of improvement
  • Implements automation to improve processes

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college and 0-5 years of technical experience and/or training. 
  • Must be a U.S. Person (includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees).

Salary Range:

$39,000.00-$52,000.000

Pay Transparency

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
