Destroy Convention. Create Demand. Play to Win.

space150 is an independent agency network with a digital backbone and a national footprint. We partner with brands to solve problems through the creative application of engineering, strategy, and design, and we're looking for a Social Strategist who lives and breathes gaming and streaming culture.

This isn't a role where you explain what live streaming is to a room full of blank stares. This is a role where you shape how major brands show up authentically in the spaces where gaming communities actually live.

The Role

As a Social Strategist specializing in gaming and streaming, you'll develop and execute social strategies that connect brands to gaming audiences across platforms — from Twitch and YouTube Gaming to TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Discord. You'll blend cultural fluency with strategic rigor to create work that earns attention, not just impressions.

You'll sit at the intersection of social strategy, community insight, and content innovation — working closely with creative and account teams to bring ideas to life for some of the most recognizable brands in the world.

This position is located in Los Angeles and is hybrid.

What You'll Do

  • Develop platform-specific social strategies rooted in gaming and streaming culture for brand clients
  • Identify trends, moments, and conversations across Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Discord, Reddit, and emerging platforms before they peak
  • Build and maintain content calendars that balance planned campaigns with real-time cultural relevance
  • Collaborate with creators, streamers, and gaming influencers — managing partnerships from outreach through execution
  • Translate audience insights and platform analytics into actionable strategic recommendations
  • Brief creative teams with sharp, culturally informed direction that respects the intelligence of gaming audiences
  • Monitor community sentiment and manage brand presence within Discord servers and other community spaces
  • Develop measurement frameworks that go beyond vanity metrics to demonstrate real impact
  • Stay fluent in the evolving landscape of gaming platforms, esports, streaming tools, and creator economies
  • Present strategies and results to clients with clarity and confidence

Why space150

We were built to challenge what agencies could be, and we haven't stopped. You'll work alongside engineers, designers, strategists, and creatives who are genuinely curious about what's next. We partner with brands that want to lead, not follow. And we believe the best work happens when smart people are given room to push boundaries.

If you've been waiting for an agency role that actually values your gaming knowledge instead of treating it as a niche hobby, this is it.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in social strategy, community management, or digital marketing — preferably within an agency environment
  • Deep, demonstrable knowledge of gaming culture: you know the difference between a raid and a host, you have opinions about VOD strategy, and you understand why community norms vary wildly between platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Twitch, YouTube Gaming, Discord, TikTok, and Instagram — as a strategist, creator, moderator, or power user
  • Proven ability to develop social strategies that balance brand objectives with authentic community engagement
  • Experience working with creators and influencers, including partnership development and campaign execution
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using social listening tools, platform analytics, and reporting dashboards
  • Excellent writing skills — you can craft a compelling brief, a sharp social post, and a persuasive client deck
  • Comfort presenting to clients and internal stakeholders
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach to working across disciplines
  • We are an AI-forward workplace. We value candidates who are comfortable with generative AI and passionate about experimenting with new ways to integrate these tools into their daily work

Bonus Points

  • Personal streaming or content creation experience (active or past)
  • Familiarity with esports ecosystems, competitive gaming, or gaming industry business models
  • Knowledge of gaming-adjacent communities: speedrunning, modding, cosplay, tabletop, etc.
  • Experience with emerging platforms and formats (VTubing, co-streaming, interactive overlays)

Benefits

At space150, we are committed to pay transparency and equity in accordance with applicable laws. The full time salary range for this position is $75,000 - $94,000 annually. The salary range for this role is based on numerous factors including location, experience, skills, and qualifications.

In addition to base compensation, space150 offers a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Life Insurance (basic, voluntary & AD&D)
  • Family Leave (parental leave)
  • Short & Long Term Disability
  • Hybrid Work Environment
  • A collaborative, creative and fun work environment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
