About Us

Sage is on a mission to improve care and quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults over 65. And yet, fall prevention and emergency response systems for older adults are archaic and ineffective. At Sage we’ve built a more modern way of understanding when older adults need help, including methods for residents to alert caregivers when in need of help, and corresponding software for caregivers to triage response. Our company mission is to create a product that our client counterparts love, and this role is a key part of that objective.

Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs. We are a software-enabled, mission-driven company, and are focused only on the problems that are central to achieving that mission. At Sage, we work hard and fast but also know that to build a truly important company, we need to treat our work as a marathon, and not a sprint. The journey matters.

About this Role

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Social Media Manager to own Sage’s social presence end to end. This role is responsible for how Sage and its leaders show up across social platforms, combining thoughtful content creation with active engagement, analytics, and relationship-building. You’ll help translate Sage’s mission, product value, and customer insights into consistent, platform-native content, including short-form and light video.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both creating and managing—someone who can plan a content calendar, capture and edit a short video, write strong copy, monitor performance, respond to comments, and proactively build relationships with followers and industry voices. You’ll play a key role in ensuring Sage’s social channels feel human, credible, and connected to the real world of senior care.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage Sage’s day-to-day social media presence across platforms including LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, and others as needed
  • Create and publish platform-native content, including short-form and light video (concepting, filming, editing, and posting)
  • Write clear, compelling copy for social posts, captions, executive accounts, and occasional supporting content
  • Actively monitor comments, messages, and mentions—responding thoughtfully and fostering two-way engagement
  • Track new followers and engaged users, identifying opportunities to build relationships with customers, partners, and industry leaders
  • Monitor social media analytics and performance trends to understand what’s working and inform ongoing optimization
  • Maintain a consistent posting cadence and content calendar aligned with company priorities
  • Partner closely with marketing, leadership, and subject matter experts to surface stories, insights, and moments worth sharing
  • Stay current on platform changes, trends, and best practices—bringing ideas forward while staying grounded in Sage’s brand and audience

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience managing social media for a brand, company, or organization
  • Demonstrated ability to create and edit short-form or light video content for social platforms
  • Strong writing skills, especially for concise, brand-aligned social copy
  • Experience working directly within social platforms (admin, posting, analytics, engagement)
  • Comfort managing multiple accounts and priorities with a high degree of ownership
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to maintain a consistent brand voice
  • Familiarity with social analytics tools and performance reporting
  • Ability to balance strategy, execution, and responsiveness in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with executives/founders on content creation
  • Background in B2B, healthcare, technology, or mission-driven organizations
  • Experience growing engaged audiences—not just follower counts
  • Bonus: comfort with lightweight design tools or templates for social visuals

Benefits and Pay

Our headquarters are located in New York City's Union Square. We believe in cross team collaboration. We think good ideas can come from anyone, and we've designed our processes to encourage participation from all. While we take our mission seriously, we don't take ourselves too seriously. We like to host offsites, outings, and team meals where we can connect as people, not just as colleagues. We offer office lunch and a fully stocked snack bar. While we are an in-office culture, we allow up to 2 remote days per week.

Our benefits package for employees includes competitive base compensation along with stock options. The expected annual salary range for this role is $90,000-$100,000 USD, depending upon the job level, which will depend on your level of expertise, your experience, and your qualifications. We also provide fully-paid health and dental insurance coverage for all of our employees, along with other health benefits including vision insurance, membership to premium primary and urgent care, and online medical health providers. We also have a take-as-you-need time off policy, in addition to 7 paid holidays and a company-wide winter break during the holidays.

We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state, or local laws.

This policy applies to all employment practices within our organization, including hiring, recruiting, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, leave of absence, compensation, benefits, training, and apprenticeship. Sage makes hiring decisions based solely on qualifications, merit, and business needs at the time.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
