BIS Safety Software is a SaaS company on a mission to change how organizations manage safety, learning, and compliance - and we need someone who can make that story land on social. We are on the hunt for a Social Media Manager. This role owns the social media function: strategy, content, execution, and performance.

About the role:

This role is for someone who knows that social media is not just about posting, it's about performance. You know what works and why, and are able to provide strong creative execution that drives real engagement that stops people from scrolling and demands attention.

You’ll own BIS’s social media presence end to end: strategy, content creation, publishing, and performance. You will be a part of a small but mighty Marketing team, collaborating closely with Product and Customer Experience - but you will be the Social Media expert on our team.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and execute the social media strategy aligned to business and brand goals
  • Create content that stops the scroll - clear hooks, strong calls to action, platform-native formats
  • Own the content calendar from concept through publishing and iteration
  • Produce and manage both static and video content across LinkedIn primarily, with foray's into YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Track performance, evaluate what’s working, and adjust based on results
  • Recommend or manage paid social when appropriate, with a focus on ROI
  • Share clear insights and recommendations with the broader team

Must-haves:

  • 3+ years managing social media in a professional setting
  • A track record of driving real engagement (not just impressions) on organic posts
  • Strong visual design skills - you can create polished graphics using tools like Canva, Figma, or Photoshop
  • Ability to produce or direct short-form video content
  • A portfolio or examples that show results, not just output

What sets great candidates apart:

  • You think about social as a system - not a stream of one-off posts
  • You can break down complex or technical topics into content people actually want to consume
  • You’re confident making strategic recommendations and defending your approach
  • You’re comfortable using generative AI as part of your creative workflow
  • Bonus if you have experience in B2B, SaaS, or agency environments

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life insurance and disability insurance
  • Health spending account
  • Flexible working hours
  • On-the-job training and growth opportunities
  • Free on-site parking

About BIS:

BIS Safety Software has been headquartered in Sherwood Park, Alberta, since 2006. We build software that helps organizations manage safety training, learning, and compliance - and we’re growing!

A few things that make us different: we don’t use job titles internally - we value humility and contribution over hierarchy. We move fast, integrate new ideas quickly, and give people real ownership of their work. And through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), you have the opportunity to own a piece of the company you’re helping build.

How to apply:

Send us your application along with a link to your portfolio or 2-3 examples of social content you’ve created that drove measurable results. We want to see what you’ve built and what it achieved.

Visit our Careers Page for more information.

We sincerely thank all applicants for their interest. Only those selected for interviews will be contacted.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
