About the VALD Marketing Team

VALD’s Marketing team is a group of skilled professionals across various fields.

The team includes designers, videographers, editors and marketing specialists, but also experienced industry professionals such as physiotherapists, strength & conditioning coaches and sports scientists. We leverage their experience to create content that is relevant and engaging for our clients and potential clients, with the goal of making technology more accessible and impactful in their day-to-day practice.

We work intimately with the broader VALD business – Product Strategy, Manufacturing, Engineering, Commercial and Finance – helping to shape the client experience and the overall public perception of VALD.

Our goal is not simply to hit our numbers but to elevate VALD’s reputation as an innovator and thought leader in the health and performance industries.

About this role

The Social Media Manager – Europe will be responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of VALD’s European social media presence, working closely with both our European and global marketing teams.

Primarily working across English-language channels, you will plan, coordinate and publish engaging social content that brings VALD’s products, people, customers and expertise to life. You will also play an important role in community management, helping VALD engage meaningfully with practitioners, organisations and professionals across Europe.

Beyond VALD’s corporate channels, you will work closely with our local Business Development Managers (BDMs), helping them build their own professional presence on social media. This includes supporting content creation, providing guidance and best practices, and making it easier for our regional teams to share relevant, authentic content with their networks.

Working between our local European teams and global marketing team, you will play a pivotal role in building awareness of VALD and promoting our products, services and expertise across the region.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means building a stronger, more relevant and engaging VALD social presence across Europe. You will:

  • Maintain a consistent cadence of high-quality, locally relevant content.
  • Grow awareness, reach and engagement among VALD’s key audiences.
  • Build active and meaningful engagement with our European communities.
  • Uphold and reinforce VALD’s global brand, style and voice in the European market.
  • Empower local BDMs to confidently create and share effective social content.
  • Identify and amplify regional customer stories, events and opportunities.
  • Use performance insights to continuously improve content and channel effectiveness.

You’ll join a growing global business operating at the intersection of technology, health and human performance.

This role offers the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of VALD’s social presence across Europe while working closely with both local teams and our global marketing function. You’ll have access to a constant stream of stories from practitioners, sporting organisations, events, research and new technology – and the opportunity to turn those stories into content that builds VALD’s presence across the region.

Most importantly, you’ll help shape how VALD connects with its European audiences as we continue to grow.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, content marketing, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing professional or brand social media accounts.
  • Strong written English and the ability to turn technical or complex topics into clear, engaging social content.
  • A good understanding of major social platforms, particularly Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook.
  • Experience creating, coordinating and scheduling social content across multiple channels.
  • Strong community management skills and an understanding of how brands can participate authentically in professional online communities.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders across different teams, markets and levels of seniority.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple content streams and priorities.
  • An analytical mindset, with an understanding of social media reporting and performance metrics.
  • A proactive approach and an ability to identify stories and content opportunities rather than simply waiting for a brief.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working across multiple European markets.
  • Proficiency in one or more European languages in addition to English – preferred: Spanish, Italian, German and/or French.
  • Experience in health, sport, technology, SaaS or another technical industry.
  • Experience supporting employee advocacy or helping sales teams develop their professional presence on social media.
  • Experience in engaging and coordinating with Key Opinion Leaders/influencers.
  • Basic content production skills across photography, video or social-first creative.
  • Familiarity with social media management, analytics and scheduling platforms such as HootSuite, AgoraPulse, Sprout Social or similar.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

      • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
      • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
      • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
      • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
      • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
      • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
