Own Project Eleven’s social presence across X, LinkedIn, and other platforms. Create written, visual, video, and AI-assisted content from research, launches, news, and company ideas. Develop the brand voice, support founders’ social profiles, respond to industry conversations, build repeatable video formats, and use analytics and experimentation to grow brand impact. The role requires deep familiarity with crypto culture, strong independent execution, excellent writing, and the ability to make complex technical topics engaging.
The summary above was generated by AI

Project Eleven is building security infrastructure for the post-quantum era.

We are a fast-moving team working at the intersection of cryptography, blockchain, quantum, and cybersecurity. We publish original research, build products and open-source tools, and work with some of the biggest companies in digital assets.

We are looking for a Social Media Lead to make Project Eleven one of the most interesting, recognizable, and credible brands in the world.

This is not a job for someone who wants to schedule corporate LinkedIn posts.

We want someone who is an internet native, has excellent taste, moves quickly, and wants real ownership over how we communicate. You are a creator as much as a strategist: you can write, shoot, edit, design, and publish without waiting on a team around you. You use AI constantly to move faster and make better work, but have the taste and judgment to recognize when the output feels generic, artificial, or unfinished. You want to go deep on quantum, cryptography, and frontier tech.
What you'll own

You will own Project Eleven's social presence across X, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.

You will:

  • Turn research, launches, news, conference appearances, data, opinions, and ideas into content people actually want to consume and share

  • Write sharp posts, threads, announcements, memes, and social-first content

  • Make genuinely great short-form video, from original concepts to podcast clips, interviews, event footage, explainers, and reactive content

  • Use AI tools intelligently to create graphics, video, animations, concepts, and other social assets without needing to wait on a designer

  • Generate ideas yourself and take them all the way from concept to published post without needing someone else to write the brief, create the asset, or tell you what to do next

  • React quickly to breaking industry news and online conversations because you are already following the topics that matter and spotting important stories yourself

  • Help develop Project Eleven's voice

  • Work with founders and leadership to strengthen their individual social presence

  • Track what works, experiment constantly, and build repeatable formats that grow the brand

  • Build our video content operation from the ground up, developing repeatable formats for short-form video, podcast clips, interviews, explainers, and original series

  • Understand that the goal is not simply to grow followers. Attention should support broader organizational goals, strengthen the brand, create opportunities, and help the company win

  • Know when a piece of content deserves five minutes of effort and when it deserves five days

You understand Crypto Twitter intimately. You notice new formats early. You know why certain posts work and others fall flat. You understand the cultures and sensitivities inside Bitcoin and the broader crypto ecosystem.

You can take a complicated technical idea and make it interesting without making it stupid.

What we're looking for

There is no perfect background for this role.

You might run social at a startup, work in crypto or media, or have built an audience of your own.

What matters is evidence that you are exceptionally good at this.

You probably have:

  • Experience creating social, content, media, or marketing work with clear evidence of impact

  • A track record of growing an account, audience, brand, publication, or personal following

  • Excellent writing instincts and strong judgment around tone

  • Deep familiarity with X and a strong understanding of how content spreads online

  • Strong video editing and visual content skills. You should be able to turn raw footage, a podcast, or an idea into something polished and worth watching

  • Fluency with AI creative tools and the ability to use them to produce high-quality visual and video content independently

  • An interest in crypto, quantum, technology, finance, and/or cybersecurity

  • The ability to work independently and turn loose ideas into finished work

Typos and grammatical errors drive you insane.

You are a perfectionist about details, but you are equally comfortable working in a fast-paced startup where you know when something is good enough to ship.

You care about hooks, screenshots, formatting, thumbnails, timing, cropping, punctuation, and whether a post actually looks good once it is live.

You experiment aggressively with AI, but you have zero tolerance for generic AI writing, sloppy generated visuals, or content that feels automated. AI should make your work faster and more ambitious, not lower the quality bar.

You might be a great fit if

You notice a post taking off before everyone else does.

You understand the difference between sounding smart and sounding boring.

You are comfortable being given a goal instead of a checklist.

You see a podcast, research paper, product launch, or news story and immediately think of five pieces of content you could make from it.

You want ownership, not just responsibility.

Experience

We care much more about what you have made and your track record of excellence than how long you have been doing it.

If you have built an audience, grown an account from nothing, repeatedly created breakout content, or otherwise demonstrated that you are unusually good at social media, we want to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
