About the Role

Social media is the highest-leverage item we can do behind our top talent.

We need a Social Media Lead who lives and breathes organic content strategy, knows every algorithm update the day it drops, and can build repeatable, creator-specific playbooks that actually move the needle on social media growth and monetary growth for our top talent.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Research

  • Develop bespoke social strategies for top-tier Playbook talent

  • Research viral trends, algorithm changes, and new platform features across Instagram and TikTok

  • Track and analyze performance of our top talent weekly

  • Run weekly viral content analysis and distribute insights to the team

  • Publish a recurring newsletter on social trends relevant to our creator verticals

  • May do community calls / webinars

  • Feedback and support for paid ad creative

  • Support with curriculum and creator training

Creator Playbooks

  • Build launch marketing kits: do-exactly-this templates, post formats, captions, timing — no guesswork

  • Build challenge marketing kits in the same format

  • Break down posting perfection for each key vertical: Fitness, Yoga, CrossFit, Moms & Dads, etc.

  • Develop mastery of what to post for lead generation vs. conversion — and teach it

  • Cover ad creative strategy, since most paid is amplified organic

Editing & Production Guidance

  • Stay current on the best editing tools and techniques

  • Coach creators and CMs on how to edit better — speed, hooks, retention

Growth Tracking

  • Own social growth tracking for our top 50 creators

  • Surface the biggest opportunities and the biggest gaps each week

Who You Are
  • You have a genuine obsession with social media — you track algo changes like a hawk and know what's working before it goes mainstream

  • You've developed content strategy for creators, brands, or talent at scale

  • You can distill complex strategy into simple, actionable templates that a creator can execute without a second question

  • You understand the organic-to-paid funnel and can think across both

  • Bonus: you're AI-savvy and excited about building tools that scale this work

  • Comfortable working across fitness, wellness, and lifestyle verticals

How This Role Works

Initially, this person will be building the playbooks and feeding strategy directly to creator managers, who will hold creators accountable for execution. Long-term, the vision is to build AI-powered tools that automate the delivery of social guidance to creators at scale. This is a role with a real path to building something big.

Team

1 key hire to start, with support to be determined. We're looking for someone who is ideally AI-savvy and excited about building infrastructure, not just executing it.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
