Luma's mission is to build multimodal AI to expand human imagination and capabilities. We believe that multimodality is critical for intelligence. To go beyond language models and build more aware, capable and useful systems, the next step function change will come from vision. So we are working on training and scaling up multimodal foundation models for systems that can see and understand, show and explain, and eventually interact with our world to effect change.
This is a rare, foundational opportunity to define the visual identity and social narrative of the next creative frontier. As our Social Media Editor, you will work directly with Brett Wietecha and our world-class research and product teams to translate Luma's cutting-edge multimodal AI models into magical, culture-defining social content. You will be the catalyst that transforms our technological breakthroughs into a global creative movement, capturing the imagination of millions of creators worldwide.
This is not a maintenance role, but a 0-to-1 opportunity to build Luma's social engine from scratch:
- Own the end-to-end editing, concepting, and execution of high-craft, short-form video content across Luma's primary social channels (X, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube).
- Produce a high volume of content (minimum 5 videos per week) focused on fast-turnaround, trend-driven concepts that capture eyeballs.
- Translate complex research breakthroughs and model capabilities into highly engaging, visually stunning, and easily digestible social media assets.
- Collaborate closely with our Senior Social Media Strategist to turn vision and strategy into compelling visual assets.
- Build and nurture a highly engaged global community of creators, developers, and AI enthusiasts from the ground up.
- Monitor social trends, community feedback, and creative movements to keep Luma at the absolute center of the cultural conversation around AI.
- A proven "builder" with a stunning public portfolio that demonstrates impeccable aesthetic taste, a track record of creating viral content, and an obsession with detail.
- Hands-on expertise in video editing and motion design, with mastery of tools like Premiere Pro, After Effects, and CapCut.
- A deep, native understanding of short-form video platforms (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) and what drives engagement.
- High agency and the ability to thrive in ambiguity, taking complete ownership of projects end-to-end in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
- A genuine passion for the creative potential of AI and a deep alignment with Luma's mission to expand human imagination.
- Experience working natively with generative AI video, image, or audio tools (e.g., Dream Machine, Midjourney, Runway).
- An established personal social media presence or a history of building highly engaged organic communities from scratch.
- Experience at a product-led startup (e.g., Figma, Notion, Linear) or a top-tier creative software company.
- A non-traditional background (e.g., an artist, filmmaker, or designer who loves to build and experiment with new mediums).
The base pay range for this role is $119,000 – $149,000 per year.
