Social Media Coordinator

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Job Summary:

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for supporting the execution of social media initiatives for our clients. The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the Brand Marketing Manager and marketing team to help create and publish content that aligns with client goals and reflects each brand's unique voice. This role involves assisting with content creation, capturing on-site photo and video content at restaurants, nightlife venues, and special events throughout the Sacramento area, and helping maintain a consistent brand presence across social media channels. The organization is looking for a creative, organized, and motivated individual who has a passion for social media, enjoys creating content, stays up to date on current trends, and is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative agency environment. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential.

Essential Functions

  • Create and publish engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
  • Capture high-quality photo and video content using a mobile device, with a focus on Reels, trending content, and user-generated (UGC) style videos.
  • Edit engaging short-form video content using CapCut or similar editing software.
  • Visit client locations throughout the Sacramento area to capture content for promotions, events, and day-to-day brand storytelling.
  • Work closely with the Brand Marketing Manager and marketing team to brainstorm, plan, and execute content calendars, campaigns, and social media initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to concept, plan, and execute social media content supporting client events, promotions, and ongoing programming.
  • Schedule and publish content while helping maintain multiple client social media accounts, ensuring content aligns with each brand's voice and standards.
  • Monitor social media channels by responding to guest comments and direct messages in a professional, brand-appropriate manner.
  • Assist with influencer outreach and UGC collaborations.
  • Stay up to date on social media trends, platform updates, and emerging content opportunities while bringing fresh ideas to the team.
  • Keep Google Business Profiles and Yelp pages up to date with current photos, promotions, and business information.
  • Track basic social media analytics and assist with monthly performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams during photo and video shoots to support client campaigns.
  • Provide various Marketing admin needs as needed.

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience

  • Preferred 1-3 years of Social Media experience. Internship, freelance, campus organization, or personal brand experience will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of Social Media Platforms - including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X, Linkedin, Pinterest, and Youtube.
  • Experience capturing engaging photo and video content using a mobile device and editing short-form video with CapCut or similar editing software.
  • Experience using Canva for basic graphic design needs 
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to write engaging, on-brand social media captions.
  • Strong written + verbal communication
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic knowledge of Meta Business Suite is preferred. Familiarity with social media scheduling platforms such as Cloud Campaign, Later, Sprout Social, or Hootsuite is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms such as ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com, or Trello is preferred.
  • Experience working with hospitality, restaurant, nightlife, or lifestyle brands is a plus.
  • Ability to receive feedback, adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to client locations throughout the Sacramento area.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, occasional holidays, and weekends as needed for client events and content capture.
