About the Role

SQUIRE is the leading platform helping barbershops grow, run, and succeed — and we know content is at the heart of how communities are built. We're seeking a Social Content Creator & Strategist who is equal parts content creator, social strategist, and performance marketer.

In this role, you’ll own SQUIRE’s social media channels — concepting, creating, and executing bold, culture-driven content that connects with our barbering community and drives measurable business growth. You’ll be responsible not just for telling great stories, but for delivering real results — increasing engagement, growing followers, driving traffic, and building loyalty.

You will design and manage our content calendar, produce multimedia content (short-form video, photo, graphics, blog posts, and more), and maintain a strong, consistent brand voice across all channels — including Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, and beyond. You'll collaborate closely with the Brand, Events, and Product Marketing teams to align messaging, but will also move fast to jump on trends and create real-time content that keeps us culturally relevant.

Critically, you’ll be data-driven: setting KPIs for your campaigns, tracking performance through analytics tools, interpreting insights, and optimizing strategy based on what’s working. We’re looking for someone who can tie content directly to outcomes — someone who gets excited not just by creating great posts, but by proving their impact with numbers.

This is a high-ownership, high-creativity role — perfect for someone who knows how to move fast, think strategically, stay close to the culture, and build community through authentic and engaging content.

Success In This Role Means

  • Creating content that feels real, relevant, and deeply resonates with the barbering community.
  • Hitting and exceeding key growth metrics (engagement rates, follower growth, traffic to site, etc.).
  • Being the driving force behind SQUIRE’s growing presence across social platforms.
  • Making SQUIRE’s brand voice unmistakable, memorable, and impossible to ignore.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the creation, posting, and management of content across all SQUIRE social channels, with a focus on achieving clear performance goals (engagement, follower growth, acquisition, community building).
  • Set KPIs for all social and content campaigns, and own reporting on content performance — what worked, what didn’t, and why.
  • Concept, shoot, and edit original content (video, photo, graphics, memes, short-form video, reels, stories, etc.).
  • Build, optimize, and evolve SQUIRE’s social media and content marketing strategies based on data, insights, and business objectives.
  • Regularly share performance results and strategic recommendations with Marketing and Leadership teams.
  • Develop and manage SQUIRE’s social media editorial calendar and content strategy, balancing planned campaigns with real-time, reactive opportunities.
  • Grow and nurture a thriving barbering community by featuring barbers’ stories, user-generated content, and influencer collaborations.
  • Create, manage, and grow our influencer and ambassador programs.
  • Work closely with Brand, Events, Product, and Customer Marketing teams to drive integrated campaigns and product launches.
  • Monitor social media trends, pop culture moments, and platform updates to ensure SQUIRE remains relevant and part of key conversations.
  • Track performance metrics, report insights, and continuously optimize strategies based on learnings.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience in content creation, social media management, and/or brand marketing roles.
  • Proven track record of building audiences, creating viral content, and driving measurable growth (bonus points for experience with fast-growing consumer, lifestyle, or culture brands).
  • Analytical thinker who loves setting goals, tracking KPIs, learning from results, and optimizing for growth.
  • Ability to connect content directly to outcomes — not just what you posted, but what it achieved.
  • Creator at heart: skilled at shooting and editing video, crafting engaging posts, writing captivating captions, and designing eye-catching graphics.
  • Deep understanding of social platforms — their algorithms, cultures, trends, and what it takes to stand out.
  • Comfortable with social media analytics tools, native platform insights, Google Analytics, or similar tools.
  • Experienced with content design tools such as Canva, CapCut, Photoshop, Figma, After Effects, etc.
  • Strategic thinker who can translate brand goals into tactical content plans that get real results.
  • Sharp eye for detail — you catch typos, bad crops, and off-brand visuals before they go live.
  • Comfortable working independently, moving fast, iterating on feedback, and experimenting with new ideas.

What We Offer

  • Base salary range $110,000 - $125,000
  • New hire stock grant
  • 100% employer paid medical/dental/vision insurance for you and your dependents
  • 401K plan with company contribution
  • Generous PTO and Parental Leave policies

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
