Role Description

Givebutter is seeking a Los Angeles-based Social Content Creator (contractor) to support the production of short-form video content across organic and paid social channels.

We're looking for a creator who loves making videos, spotting trends, testing ideas, and bringing content to life. You'll work closely with our Senior Social Media Manager to help increase content output, support filming, edit short-form videos, and develop new content formats that help Givebutter stand out.

This is a hands-on creator role for someone who enjoys being both behind and in front of the camera. You'll help us move quickly, experiment often, and create content people actually want to watch.

We're especially excited to meet creators who think big and bold—people who can take our brand's limitless potential and turn it into scroll-stopping content that drives real impact. From trends and original content series to community storytelling and brand activations, you'll help bring Givebutter to life in buttery-fresh and creative ways.

This role will also support content production related to Givebutter's flagship event and product launch, The Spread.

Scope of work

Deliverable 1: Social content production & creative support

Support Givebutter's content production efforts by:

  • Editing short-form video content for organic and paid channels

  • Filming on-camera entertaining and educational content

  • Supporting the development of new content formats and recurring social series

  • Providing creative recommendations, trend insights, and content opportunities

Target output

  • 16+ organic short-form videos per month

  • Support production of 6-8 paid social / UGC-style video assets per month

  • Development and testing of 1-2 recurring social content series

Deliverable 2: The Spread launch content support

Support content production and creative execution related to Givebutter's flagship event and product launch, The Spread, including:

  • Pre-launch content production

  • Event-related filming and content capture

  • On-camera participation as needed

  • Post-event content editing and packaging

  • Content asset development and production support

What we're looking for

  • Based in Los Angeles and available for periodic in-person content production (about 1-2 times per month) in collaboration with the Sr. Social Media Manager

  • Experience creating content for personal or brand channels

  • Love creating, filming, and editing short-form video content

  • Are comfortable appearing on camera and bringing energy to videos

  • Have a strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and social trends

  • Can quickly turn ideas and trends into content

  • Enjoy brainstorming creative concepts and testing new formats

  • Have strong editing skills (CapCut preferred)

  • Are self-starters who can take a concept and run with it

  • Thrive in fast-moving, creative environments

Nice to have

  • Experience creating content for a brand or growing a social audience

  • Experience with creator partnerships or UGC-style content

  • Background in SaaS, technology, nonprofit, or mission-driven brands

  • Familiarity with fundraising, community building, or nonprofit marketing

Location: Los Angeles (hybrid; mostly remote but available for periodic in-person content production)

Type: Contract (1099)

Contract duration: July 2026 - December 2026

Estimated commitment: Up to 30 hours per week

Compensation: $35 - $45/hour

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
