This is a new role with the opportunity to shape how a global technology company approaches social media and content. You’ll build a global content strategy that strengthens the brand, grows its audience, and feels native to each platform, combining big-picture thinking with the hands-on work needed to bring that strategy to life.

Position description

As the social and content lead, you’ll own social media content strategy for a global technology company. You’ll shape how the company connects with consumer audiences across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, and TikTok, with a focus on increasing engagement, growing its audience, and expanding share of voice.

Reporting to the GM, you’ll establish the strategy, content calendars, workflows, and governance that connect global and regional marketing efforts. You’ll collaborate closely with creative and product management to turn technical products and ideas into engaging, platform-native content.

This is a full-time, direct hire position—you’ll join the company directly. The role is onsite in the Los Angeles area.

Why this opportunity?

  • Take ownership of the social strategy and presence for an established, global technology brand.
  • Help evolve the company’s social presence with stronger, more engaging content.
  • Build the global processes that enable teams to move together while creating locally relevant content.

Activities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global social media content strategy aligned with product and business priorities.
  • Create and develop social content in collaboration with a network of external resources.
  • Own master content calendars across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Establish global-to-regional workflows that support brand consistency while allowing for local relevance.
  • Partner with creative and product teams to translate technical concepts and product stories into engaging social content.
  • Develop platform-specific approaches that balance brand storytelling with the way audiences engage on each channel.
  • Use community engagement, influencer collaborations, and platform-specific tactics to grow audiences and increase share of voice.
  • Monitor social performance, audience growth, engagement, and competitive share of voice to inform future strategy.
  • Establish clear social governance and processes that keep global and regional teams aligned.

Skills & qualifications

    Need to have
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in social media, content strategy, or digital marketing management for a global brand, including significant experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok and how content performs across each platform.
  • Experience using social listening and analytics to measure performance, grow audiences, and inform strategy.
  • Experience developing global social strategies and workflows that support brand and business objectives.
  • Proven ability to turn complex or technical topics into engaging social content.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management skills.
  • Based in the L.A. area or willing to relocate. A relocation budget is available.
  • Nice to have
  • Experience with consumer technology, gaming, consumer products, or other highly engaged consumer audiences.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
