About MeanPug

MeanPug Digital is a performance-focused digital marketing agency serving U.S.-based law firms. We help practices grow through strategy, creative, and rigorous execution across paid media, SEO, CRO, and analytics. We move fast, measure everything, and care a lot about clarity—both in our work and in how we collaborate.

Role Summary

We’re looking for a Paid Social / Social Ads Specialist who can own social ad execution end-to-end while also bringing hands-on video creation chops (shooting, editing, and packaging content for conversion).

You’ll be responsible for building and optimizing campaigns across platforms like Meta and TikTok, and you’ll collaborate with strategy, design, and client teams to ship creative that wins. A big part of this role is being able to take a concept or script and turn it into ad-ready assets—especially short-form video—quickly and consistently.

This is a great role for someone who’s equally comfortable in Ads Manager and in Premiere/CapCut/After Effects, and who can balance experimentation with disciplined reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Paid Social Strategy & Execution

  • Build, launch, and manage paid social campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and (as needed) TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, etc.
  • Own campaign structure: objectives, audiences, placements, budgets, bidding, and pacing.
  • Develop testing plans (creative, hooks, messaging angles, landing page alignment) and run structured experiments.
  • Monitor performance daily and execute optimizations: creative rotation, audience refinement, budget reallocation, bid adjustments, and funnel tuning.
  • Manage retargeting and full-funnel setups (prospecting → retargeting → conversion).
  • Implement tracking best practices: pixel events, UTMs, conversion tracking, and attribution sanity checks.
  • Work with the team to maintain clean, accurate reporting and learnings documentation.

Creative Production (Video First)

  • Edit short-form ad content optimized for performance:
    • 9:16 vertical (Reels/Stories/TikTok), 1:1, 4:5, 16:9 as needed
    • Strong hooks, tight pacing, captions/subtitles, motion graphics, overlays, b-roll, and sound design
  • Turn raw footage into multiple ad variants (different hooks, CTAs, edits, lengths).
  • Create and maintain reusable templates for rapid creative output (captions, lower thirds, layouts, brand-safe elements).
  • Collaborate with strategists/copywriters to translate insights into creative angles that convert.

Copy, Messaging, and Compliance

  • Write or adapt performance-focused ad copy and headlines (with a sharp eye for clarity).
  • Understand (and work within) platform policies and legal-industry considerations (e.g., case results language, disclaimers, sensitive targeting categories).
  • Ensure creative and messaging are aligned to client brand standards.

Reporting & Client Collaboration

  • Produce weekly/monthly insights: what worked, what didn’t, what we’re testing next.
  • Participate in internal and client-facing meetings when needed (you don’t need to be a “salesy” presenter, but you should be confident explaining performance and decisions).
  • Communicate proactively about blockers, results, and priorities.

Requirements
  • 2+ years managing paid social campaigns with measurable performance outcomes (lead gen strongly preferred).
  • Strong experience with Meta Ads Manager (audiences, optimization, creative testing, pixel events).
  • Demonstrable ability to create high-performing video ads:
    • You can edit quickly and cleanly, and you understand what makes an ad “work.”
  • Proficiency in at least one editing workflow/toolset:
    • Premiere Pro / After Effects / Final Cut, or CapCut (plus motion tools), etc.
  • Comfort with performance marketing metrics:
    • CPA/CPL, CTR, CVR, CPM, frequency, AOV/LTV concepts, attribution caveats.
  • Strong organizational habits: testing cadence, naming conventions, creative library management, documented learnings.
  • Excellent written communication and a bias toward clarity and directness.

Benefits
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan with company matching
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Dog-friendly office environment
  • Team building events and activities
  • Technology stipend for equipment setup
  • Pet adoption reimbursement (up to $500)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
