Job Description:

We are seeking a Snowflake Data Analyst (Remote-Fractional) with strong SQL and ETL expertise to design, manage, and optimize our Snowflake environment. This role will play a critical part in enabling secure, accurate, and business-aligned data access across the client and downstream systems. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of Snowflake platform skills, ETL integration experience, and business collaboration to support data-driven decision-making.

This is a contract, hourly role—perfect for experienced professionals who enjoy fast-paced, high-impact work and want the flexibility to engage in meaningful, cutting-edge client initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Snowflake Development & Management

  • Create and manage tables, views, secure views, and schemas within Snowflake.
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege data access patterns.
  • Design and maintain data models (e.g., star and snowflake schemas) to support reporting and analytics use cases.

ETL & Data Integration

  • Build and manage ETL processes using FiveTran (preferred) or Boomi.
  • Configure and maintain connectors for moving data between Snowflake and external systems
  • Develop ETL logic for transformations, error handling, schema drift, and incremental data loads.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across syncs and integrations.

Collaboration & Business Alignment

  • Partner with the client's teams to translate business rules (deduplication, funnel stages, attribution, KPIs) into Snowflake views.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture (EA) and downstream tool owners to ensure integration, governance, and security compliance.
  • Document technical workflows, permissions, and integration details for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support QA and governance processes to maintain high data quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or BI roles with a focus on Snowflake.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency for Snowflake (DDL, DML, views, secure views, schemas).
  • Strong experience with Snowflake security and RBAC.
  • Demonstrated ability in data modeling and schema design (star/snowflake schemas).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (FiveTran preferred; Boomi a plus).
  • Strong understanding of data governance, QA, and documentation practices.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
