DoubleZero is looking for a highly talented Smart Contract Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of a novel decentralized smart contract that will underpin the DoubleZero Protocol.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
-
Smart Contract Development. Write blockchain-based BSS in Rust/Solana to interface with network devices provided by DoubleZero bandwidth contributors. Create modular and testable code while following secure development practices. Take ownership in the design and evolution of large portions of the overall system.
-
Implementing Economics for Validators. Work closely with our Chief Economists to understand the needs and incentives of users of the DoubleZero network and then write smart contracts which effectively transfer value across the various participants in the protocol. For more information, see economics.doublezero.xyz.
-
Technical Knowledge. Understand smart contracts concepts including Solana, Ethereum and other blockchain technologies. Know when to build something new vs. depending on an existing open-source library.
-
Solana and beyond. While the DoubleZero network is starting with Solana, we will ultimately support validators across a range of chains as well as non-blockchain use cases. Flex your engineering talents to write smart contracts on other chains as well as identify improvements needed to grow DoubleZero as we support multi-tenancy.
-
Communication. Actively participate in the ongoing curation of the DoubleZero code base including facilitating discussions within issues and pull requests into the main branch.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
5-10 years of software development experience supporting large scale products
-
2-3 years of Solana smart contract experience, ideally in infrastructure or validator-related projects
-
Experience building decentralized software systems
-
Ability to prioritize appropriately and meet deadlines in high-pressure environments
ABOUT DOUBLEZERO
DoubleZero is a decentralized, permissionless protocol that revolutionizes network performance for distributed systems like blockchain. The mission is simple: increase bandwidth and reduce latency.
DoubleZero increases bandwidth by filtering junk data that currently plagues validators and other network operators. DoubleZero reduces latency by connecting these filters with underutilized private fiber links in the form of a mesh network. By combining these improvements and routing the right data through optimized, low-latency paths, the DoubleZero protocol empowers blockchains and other systems to reach performance levels that are currently impossible.
In short, DoubleZero is a new Internet for distributed systems. It is supported by two organizations: DoubleZero Foundation, which drives the adoption, decentralization, security, and advancement of the protocol; and Malbec Labs, which develops the technical components of the protocol itself. We look forward to hearing from you.
