About the Team/Role

This role is responsible for developing and executing the full lifecycle marketing plan for our Small Business Mobility Line of Business. You’ll create and implement strategies for:

  • Lifecycle and retention marketing (75%): fostering deeper engagement, increasing adoption, driving product usage, and enhancing customer retention to maximize lifetime value (LTV).

  • Demand generation (25%): driving awareness, lead acquisition, and pipeline growth to fuel top-of-funnel demand and attract new business.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in both lifecycle marketing, including retention/adoption strategies, and demand generation, with the ability to strategize and execute across the full funnel while meeting revenue targets. They will be passionate about empowering small businesses, recognizing them as the backbone of the economy, and driven to help them thrive and succeed.

This position requires a proven ability to lead and collaborate with core business and marketing stakeholders. Success in this role requires strong skills in marketing effectiveness measurement, audience segmentation, communications, and project management. Ideal candidates will have experience in the B2B payments or fintech landscape, a track record of delivering growth, and a passion for leveraging data to optimize performance and investment.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lifecycle & Retention Marketing

    • Develop and implement programs that enhance customer engagement, adoption, and retention, leading to measurable improvements in top-line and bottom-line growth.

    • Build and execute customer-focused activation and reactivation campaigns to increase usage and customer satisfaction.

    • Spend time with customers to understand pain points, improve the customer experience, and tailor adoption strategies accordingly.

    • Track key metrics (e.g., product usage, churn rates, retention rates) to evaluate the success of lifecycle initiatives and optimize investments.

  • Demand Generation

    • Build awareness and interest campaigns aimed at increasing market share and driving net-new customer acquisition.

    • Develop full-funnel strategies to attract, nurture, and convert leads, with a focus on pipeline generation and year-over-year growth of marketing-sourced revenue.

    • Partner with sales teams to ensure readiness and follow-up for demand-gen campaigns, aligning on lead qualification and conversion metrics.

    • Own multi-channel marketing efforts (digital, account-based marketing, third-party advertising, out-of-home advertising, events) to drive top-of-funnel activity.

  • Cross-Functional Impact

    • Partner with the business and Digital Marketing team to align on strategies for and execute on customer engagement.

    • Manage risks and resolve issues impacting deliverables or objectives effectively.

    • Deliver campaigns on time and on budget, ensuring efficient resource management.

    • Lead ongoing reporting and evaluation of campaign results to drive data-informed decisions.

Experience you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, with 5+ years of B2B marketing experience, ideally in the Financial Industry, Payments or Fintech.

  • Proven success in both lifecycle/retention and full-funnel demand/lead generation strategies across digital, ABM, events, and multi-channel campaigns.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and pipeline management skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex projects, influence stakeholders, and thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
