Job Title: Skip Tracer
Job Summary:
Magna Legal Services is seeking a Skip Tracer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in helping to investigate a variety of case types; however, most of the work for this position will be conducting locates/skip-tracing for both plaintiff and defense firms, quite often to assist in the service of legal documents. It is anticipated that this position will primarily consist of desktop-based investigations.
Key Responsibilities
- Uncovering important information for individuals who are missing or difficult to locate such as fugitives, debt collection, or finding loved ones for wills and estates.
- Searching public and private records
- Conducting pretext calls (covertly finding information or confirming details of the person of interest)
- Interviewing people who know the individual of interest
- Investigating individuals using a variety of databases and software
- Coordinating service of process with “boots-on-the ground” investigators/process servers
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience doing investigative and/or service of process work
- Industry experience in law enforcement, law firms, court system, or working as a skip tracer
- A college degree in a relevant field (i.e., Criminal Justice, Psychology, Communications, etc.) is strongly preferred, but not mandatory if there is sufficient experience.
- Bilingual applicants will be given preference.
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Must be an excellent communicator as this individual will be speaking to people daily.
Compensation: USD $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
