We are seeking a passionate and talented Project Manager to help us deliver outstanding Shopify and ecommerce-driven digital experiences for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of Shopify builds, redesigns, migrations, and ongoing support engagements. You will work collaboratively with internal strategy, design, development, and QA teams, while also managing the client relationship.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Project Management, comfortable working in a commerce-focused technical environment, and able to lead project teams in a fast-paced agency setting. Becoming a TAG team member is an opportunity to grow as a Project Manager while working with a highly collaborative and diversely skilled team.

You might be who we are looking for if...

  • You have worked at a digital agency before.
  • You have 1–3 years of experience managing web development projects, ideally with Shopify or ecommerce platforms (experience with Contentful, Drupal, or WordPress is also a plus).
  • You are intellectually curious and demonstrate a strong commitment to clients and teammates.
  • You are a clear, confident communicator and write and speak effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You can manage multiple projects at once, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You build trust with clients through professionalism, follow-through, and transparency.
  • You are comfortable asking questions and seeking clarity when requirements or priorities are unclear.
  • You are highly detail oriented and organized.
  • You work effectively with remote and distributed teams.
  • You are comfortable partnering with developers and working within technical systems and workflows.
  • You are eager to learn, open to mentorship, and interested in growing your ecommerce and Shopify expertise.

As a Project Manager at TAG you will...

    • Serve as the primary point of contact between TAG and your clients, building strong, trusted relationships.
    • Partner closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration and communication.
    • Manage Shopify ecommerce focused projects, including builds, enhancements, and ongoing support, typically up to $200k.
    • Develop and maintain project documentation such as timelines, project plans, meeting notes, and budget trackers.
    • Support project scoping by gathering requirements and translating them into clear, actionable tasks.
    • Oversee project execution from kickoff through launch, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with TAG quality standards.
    • Forecast and manage project resources in alignment with budgets, schedules, and team capacity.
    • Monitor project health and proactively identify and escalate risks related to scope, timeline, budget, or resourcing.
    • Collaborate closely with strategy, design, development, and QA teams to maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Participate in QA reviews to help validate requirements and ensure quality prior to release.
    • Lead recurring project meetings, including internal check-ins, client status meetings, sprint planning, and milestone reviews.
    • Provide clear, consistent updates to clients and internal leadership on progress, risks, and next steps.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback, lessons learned, and ideas to strengthen Shopify delivery and PM practices.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

      • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
      • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
      • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
      • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
      • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
      • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
